And souls full

And In your rolling and frolicking

Be so poor
As to only have

I deem it an honour to write a foreword for Jairam Seshadri’s collection of poems and essays, titled Woof Songs and the Eternal Self-Saboteur, inspired mainly by his pet dogs: Tinker, Rani and Shvan.

Also included in the collection are two poems inspired by dogs owned by others and even a couple of poems ‘written’ by his beloved Tinker!

If you are wondering, ‘why a whole book of poems and essays on dogs?’, we find the answer in one of his five essays titled The Razor’s Edge.
