A WOOF LIFE

I’m scared of nothing, me. Just watch me plough
through brambles after pheasants. Never mind
the thorns; I’m not about to yelp. See how
my street cred soars when I’ve been porcupined.
And as for cows and horses, just because
they’re big, it doesn’t follow that they’re tough.
And cats? They scarper when I flash these claws;
no animal on earth can call my bluff;
except perhaps the indoor hoover beast
that sucks the carpet clean and makes a din;
the outdoor one that gobbles up at least
its weight in grass; machines that whizz and spin;
It’s things with three-pin-plugs that make me cringe
(but don’t let on you ever heard me whinge).
