    Chapter 1

Jasper fell on his back onto his mattress and awakened by the stern calls of his uncles to get ready for school. After wiping his eyes Jasper bounced out of bed and hoped in the shower to get rid of the stench of sulfur and sweat his body was penetrated with. Milo and Molly patiently waited on the front porch for Jasper. Jasper ran down the stairs throwing caution into the wind, grabbed his lunch and ran out the door. Milo and Molly accompanied Jasper to and from school every day, and any other place Jasper traveled to. They were his sworn protectors. Every day was a new day filled with curiosity and opportunity, Jasper was all about the opportunity to discover new things. He never knew what to expect when dusk came and he closed his eyes, no matter what he was ready for anything.

Jasper was a carefree soul and chose to start each day that way. Throwing caution to the wind, and lived each day to the fullest. On the way to school Jasper almost walked into on coming traffic, but Molly locked her fangs to Jasper’s ankle getting
