    Introduction

This is a children’s story about Chantelle who enters a magical kingdom in order to save a young Princess called Alicia who is hiding in her palace from the wicked witch Slendrina who threatens to banish all blonde haired girls from the kingdom, along with what she calls those dreadful creatures known as Unicorns.

Slendrina uses her evil trolls called Jessica and George to find them, but will she succeed with her wicked plan or will Chantelle save the day.

    Just Like Magic

It was an early summers evening, the weather had been warm that day and continued well into the night. An eight year old girl was playing in her room, she had placed all her dolls and cuddly toys almost in a circle, making sure that when she sat down she could see all of them. She had copied the teachers at school, who had organised the children for story time. She searched around the room for a suitable book to read, one that she could read easily. There on the dressing table lay a book that she had never seen before, but the words were easy to read and it had colourful picture in it too. She sat down with the book on her knees and asked the class to pay attention as she was about to read the story.

As she opened the book, she was surprised to see it glow and stars appeared to drift up to the ceiling. This was a most astonishing sight and for a moment she stared at the ceiling expecting something else to take place.

Wow she said and then began reading the book out loud

Once upon a time in a land far away, lived a Princess called Alicia she showed her audience the picture of Alicia "She had blonde hair, soft skin and a bright pink dress with lots of sequins on it, but despite being a beautiful Princess, she was very sad. A wicked witch Slendrina with a strange blue face ordered her evil trolls Jessica and George to capture her mother and father, the king and Queen because they were blonde and powerful, they were thrown into the dungeon along with all the other blonde people. Blondes are wicked people, the witch said.

I wonder what she would think of me, with my ginger hair? She said pointing to her hair

At that moment she heard a voice calling out Help me

She looked around her, but saw no body

She looked back in her book and the voice called out again Help me

Where are you? She asked searching around the room

I am in the mirror she replied

She walked to the dressing table and looked in the mirror, but could only see herself in there I can’t see you she said looking all around the mirror

Try the big mirror and look harder

She looked into the full sized mirror and saw herself from head to toe, and then a mist appeared filling the entire mirror. As it disappeared Alicia stood in front of her, she had blonde hair like the book and the bright pink dress with sequins all over it.

Alicia she said delighted to see her

    Hello, and who are you?

    My name is Chantelle

Hello Chantelle Alicia said smiling Come and see me

How do I do that? Chantelle asked curiously

Enter the mirror, it is magic she replied

How do I do that? she said looking around it

Just walk inside it, its quite safe you can’t be harmed honestly

Chantelle moved her right hand forward and watched as it vanished into the mirror, she did the same with her left arm and then brought them back out.

    That’s weird she said

Come on Chantelle, do it for me

Chantelle tried again this time pushing her whole body into the mirror, this time she began to see Alicia’s world and continued moving forward until she had entered her room.

    At last Alicia said laughing

Oh my god how strange was that Chantelle said tapping and prodding her body I feel alright

Oh god Alicia said touching Chantelle’s hair

    What’s wrong?

    "Your hair is the colour
