Reginald D. Payne is a 1997 graduate of Grambling State University. Trained as a journalist, he was born and raised in Oakland, California. Today he resides in Sacramento where he is often found as a neighborhood activist for peace, though more often than not he can be found cheering on his local sports teams, or hobbying around his vast record,tape, and cd collection.

Sleep harassment has become such an issue to me that I began picking up a pen and writing about it. Here’s my story, hope you like it.

Dedicated to the boys with step-fathers and disabled brothers.

Chapter 1

Man, this is happenin’.

I never considered in my life this would occur. But it’s real. This shit is happening. I’m hearing niggas call me fag through my breath as I try to go to sleep!

I’m no fag! Never even thought about the word or what goes along with it growing up. Who is these folks? Why me?

Was it the doctor after I had a minor ear surgery to remove something which was making it
