About this ebook

The poems in this weighty volume are too numerous and ponderous to summarize in a review of this type. The poems of Advocate S. A. S. Mulla do not only deal with the philosophy of nature like Wordsworth but also comments on the essence of human life, for instance, the poems like “Love,” “Death,” “Soul,” “Life,” “Time,” “Mother,” “The Mind,” “Time,” “Chastity of Judiciary,” “Law,” “Mother India,” and “God” reflect the poet’s transcendental outlook toward human life. He is concerned with all poetic and stylistic devices in terms of form, theme, and poetic diction of poetry. He shows an anxiety of human essence in all the poems and makes the complex relationship of nature, human, and God like William Blake’s Poems.

It is a great pleasure to read the poems written by Advocate S. A. S. Mulla as they are excellently written and they properly contextualize the multidimensional sensibility. They reflect a remarkable skill and range of themes, particularly in the light of Romantic sensibility. Most of his poems are lyrical observations of the shared essence of the nature and human existence. of their taste for beauty. They reveal the influence of Romantic Poetry of Wordsworth and can be treated as ‘Golden disc’ of new dawn of Indian English Poetry which is ‘rising in the East’.

The poems in this weighty volume are too numerous and ponderous to summarize in a review of this type. The poems of Advocate S. A. S. Mulla not only deal with the Philosophy of Nature like Wordsworth but also comment on the essence of human life, for instance, the poems like ‘Love’, ‘Death’, ‘Soul’, ‘Life’, ‘Time’, ‘Mother’, ‘The Mind’, ‘Time’, ‘Chastity of Judiciary’, ‘Law’, ‘Mother India’, ‘God’, reflect the poet’s transcendental outlook towards human life. He is concerned with all poetic and stylistic devices in terms of form, theme, and poetic diction of poetry. He shows an anxiety of human essence in all the poems and makes the complex relationship of Nature, Human and God like William Blake’s Poems.

Added to these features we find that, all his poems are marked by transcendentalism which even today appears to be relevant. The crisis faced by human society today mainly arises out of the lack of core human values like genuine love for friends, parents, Institutions, religion and humanity. Advocate S. A. S. Mulla, through his poems, shows his anguish towards too much of materialism and tries to seek solution in the belief in real human values given to us by The God Almighty. He vehemently suggests that if we resort to the path shown to us by The Almighty, we might get over the material crisis being faced by the humanity.

On the whole, the poems written by
