Many people, I among them, believe that we should not use our faith-based platforms to exert influence for purely political reasons. By purely political, I mean when the motivation behind our political involvement is purely secular. A pastor, for example, should not use his pulpit to boost the campaign of a candidate simply because that candidate’s party wants to raise or lower taxes. To be driven by the issue of raising or lowering taxes is secular motivation. Likewise, an evangelist should not appear on a televised talk show to tell the audience that God wants a particular candidate to win because the other candidate is too inexperienced. Basing our political involvement on our judgement of a candidate’s experience also shows secular motivation. So, again, we should not throw our spiritual/religious weight around for political reasons if our motivation is only secular. But what if our motivation for political involvement is spiritual instead of secular? It is my belief that if our underlying motivation for involving ourselves in politics is purely spiritual, we are then perfectly justified in using our faith-based platforms to achieve political results. So, if that pastor had learned that a particular candidate had blasphemed against God and intends to lead others to do the same, then that pastor should tell his or her congregation from the pulpit. If that evangelist has information that a certain political party is financially supporting the persecution of Christians, then that evangelist would be obligated to tell others during his/her talk show appearance. Well, my friends, in case you haven’t already guessed, my motivation for writing this political book is 100% spiritual. I have discovered horrible things in America’s politics that are leading us spiritually astray. By doing so, they are dividing the entire country and promoting many forms of immorality and lawlessness. I’ve felt the need to write this book for some time now, but have resisted until now, because I feared that no one would respond positively to it and that it would, therefore, be a waste of time. But after a lot of prayers and meditation on this matter, I realized that I really had no choice. I had to write it. How readers will react to it is not nearly as important as knowing that I did my best to share information that will help to lessen or remove hostile political forces that are hurting us spiritually and thereby causing so many other problems in our society.

Besides, how could I call myself a true child of God if I feel spiritually led to help others in this way but refuse to do so?

Introduction

Today’s Democratic Party

I know what some of us may be thinking regarding the title and subtitle of this book and I absolutely agree: The Democratic Party has indeed been known to champion lofty Judeo-Christian principles like brotherly love, equality, higher morals and deeper spirituality for our nation. The problem with that thought, however, is that it is now past tense. What the Democratic Party is now doing is the exact opposite-it is now suppressing those Judeo-Christian principles!

Before you dismiss this book as a crock of rhetorical nonsense, please hear me out. After years of personal experience and exhaustive research, what I’ve discovered is that the Democratic Party’s current agenda involves, in effect, dusting off its 19th century Southern Democrat agenda and updating it to a more presentable but even more ungodly 21st century form. Am I saying that the Democratic Party literally sat down and physically rewrote its 19th century agenda into a 21st century version? No, of course not. What I’m saying is simply that the current Democratic Party no longer resembles its late-20th century self when it promoted the lofty ideals mentioned above. Instead, it appears to have deteriorated into a version of itself that has a striking resemblance to its sinister 19th century form. But, again, the updated version seems even more ungodly.

Can I be more specific? Well, just as it did in the 19th century, the Democratic Party is once again suppressing the values and virtues that result from our Judeo-Christian principles and teachings. Instead of enforcing and perpetuating the civil rights that it seemed to promote in the late 20th century, the Democratic Party, through its progressive, increasingly leftist brand of liberalism, is now curtailing and restricting them, like it did in the 19th century. Instead of upholding the moral standards of our nation, the Democratic Party is now openly flouting them and calling on others to do the same, like it did in the 19th century. Instead of promoting Biblical ideals like equality and the sanctity of human life, that party is now relativizing and rationalizing them away, like it did in the 191century. Instead of acknowledging the ultimate truth and authority of God, the Democratic Party is treating people as though it is the God of a new religion, like it did in the 19th century. Instead of trying to work together as one nation under God, the Democratic Party is intentionally dividing the country, like it did in the 19th century. And yes, the now largely leftist Democratic Party has again, to paraphrase former Vice President Joe Biden, put blacks back in chains, just like it did in the 19th century!

Liberal or Leftist?

Just so we’re on the same page regarding what I mean by leftism, let’s focus on that term for just a minute. For a relatively brief period back in the late 20th century, the Democratic Party did promote the lofty liberal ideals that I mentioned earlier, like brotherly love, equal rights for all and the irrelevance of skin color (which the Republican Party also promoted).
