10 Minute Warning
Sometimes its easier to say what something is not as opposed to saying what it is. This is not another writing seeking to embarrass or criticize the local church. This is not another story written to poke holes in the Christian church. This is not another person sharing a bad experience that has shaped their opinion of the church for the rest of their lives. This is a persons concern about an ongoing issue that is impacting the church today, and tomorrow if not acted upon. The tithes and offerings that once overflowed the cups of believers were and are grinding to a halt. Donations are down and tithes are declining. Why? The author wants readers to think about the decrease in donations to the church, and ask themselves why.

Foreword
T he most stable institution in the world and quite possibly of all time is being attacked on all sides. The church. We have built bigger churches in an effort to serve more, but the people have not come. We have stood our ground and boldly refused to move like the Apostles [Peter and John, and what has it gotten us. What’s more important, or more scary, is that the church of yesterday and the church of right now are both under attack, by other church members. Yes, 2,000 years later, the church is still being tormented by the church. What’s different?
Those who did not believe what we believe have been criticized and ostracized. They scoffed at our belief in God, Creator of everything. We pushed back, and made it a discussion about faith. and we stood our ground. Ultimately, faith is an argument that they can’ t win. So we celebrated our victory, knowing that the enemy was reloading.
So they got smarter, and decided to attack where we are weakest. They found a place that is Universally recognized and respected. They chose a place that even divides us: our wallets.
Our wallets, the place that spends more days closed than open. They picked a place where they could compete directly with existing churches and cause some to step away from their faith. Yes, people are living longer, but tithes are down. The doors of the church are perpetually open, and yet fewer and fewer come in. Yes, giving is less and less
