The Black Hole - Helen Beekman
Prologue
From the beginning of time and throughout my years I have observed many different personalities and attitudes that are part of one’s make-up. Particularly noticeable is the fact that many people will find it difficult to love someone or something they fear or know little about. Instead of embracing diversity, people tend to reside in areas with other like-minded people that one would naturally feel most comfortable with. This often leads to prejudice and prejudice is never a very productive asset to society.
Rather than making my story line a real-to-life fiction, I have written this story in a sci-fi fiction genre. As in real life, prejudices are built up in families, communities, countries and go on for generations. In time there can be a break-through and people do intermix, but it can take generations to make such a change.
As in real life, the characters in this story only realized their neglect of their Maker when danger came too close. As in real life, parents can forget to teach their children the important things in life, who made them, what is their purpose in life etc. Thus lord of the galaxies comes on the scene as the protector, provider and comforter.
It is by common grace that our world(s) is not as chaotic as it could be. And that grace comes from the Creator of heaven and earth.
Chapter 1
It was a hot, humid, windy sort of day. The clouds hinted out a storm was approaching. Analee felt the eeriness of something about to happen but didn’t know what. Fear filled the heart of Analee as she watched the darkness come around her and envelop her.
I’ve never felt this phenomena before. It’s warm, it’s darker than dark, and I don’t know where I am,
Analee said softly her voice quivering.
Just about the same time that the dark darkness came, Analee felt herself falling. She fell and fell and fell. Or did she slip? With such a darkness overcoming her, it was hard to tell. Was she falling, slipping, or flying?
Everything was total silence even though Analee knew she had been with friends. Where, why, how, what, when, or do I even have my wits about me yet, Analee wondered. How much time has passed?
I try to open my eyes but they refuse to open. Relax,
I keep telling myself. Relax.
My eyes won’t open. It’s as if they are frozen shut. I’ll get up and use the bathroom. My goodness, my legs won’t move either. Maybe if I push myself off to the edge of this shelf I am on, I’ll be able to stand. Oh no, my arms won’t move either. All the sinews, muscles, joints, ligaments are unmovable. Am I dead?
I open my eyes to an environment I have never seen or been in before. It feels so warm and so different from the environment I grew up in. What is the meaning of all of this, I wonder.
Anyone here?
I ask loudly. The door to the small cubicle opens a crack. In a language I have never heard before a beautiful lady enters with a cheery greeting. She is beautiful although she is very short. Clothed in white, the lady is wearing white gloves and has a white mask hanging on her chest. She proceeds to pull the mask up over her nose and mouth.
The beautiful lady came slowly over to me and extended a hand to me. I too quickly extended my hand which had now regained its flexibility. She jumped back as if afraid. Again very slowly I held my hand out to her and she seemed less afraid.
It seems to me Lady Beautiful must belong to a health care group as she continues to observe me. She put a strap across my head and appears to be monitoring something.
Lady Beautiful begins asking me questions in Lutselian. I try to answer her as best I can not knowing the language. I don’t understand where I am?
I say to her with questioning eyes. The beautiful lady realizes I am trying to figure out where I am and who she is.
Lady Beautiful took me to a sliding wall and we stepped out into the elements. It is very warm. Lutsel,
she says while spanning the horizon with her hand and eyes. The flowers are bright and the grass is greener than I have ever seen anywhere before. The sky is so blue with puffy white clouds.
Huron.
I say to the lady pointing at myself. Her demeanor immediately changes and she appears afraid again. She quickly motioned me back into the small cubicle where I had been earlier.
I quietly sat on the ledge and wondered what is next?? I realize there are no other humonics from Huron here and I am left alone. What should I do now? I decide to venture out but where should I go? I wonder if I should go through the door the beautiful lady came through or should I go through the sliding wall out into the elements.
Leaving the ledge and going through the sliding wall, I come to an outside area that is absolutely awesome. The grass is soft to walk on but I soon realize it is much too hot here with all my clothing on. My feet are sweating so I take off my high boots along with my heavy coat and headwear. I continue to walk around not knowing where I am going.
Soon enough dusk comes settling in. I backtrack trying to find where I had come from. No success. Finally I see a shelter in the distance. I try and try to find one of those sliding walls but to no avail. Finally I lay down beside the shelter and fall soundly asleep.
Something is tugging on my shoulders. In a strange language I hear, Chio chio.
There is a strange humonic gesturing for me to enter the structure.
Spett,
the humonic says motioning at me to eat. Although I am very hungry, the food looks and smells quite different from what I am used to. It also tastes quite different and I am not sure I will be able to eat it.
Lady Beautiful came into the dining area just as I was finishing up my meal. It is so good to see her. At least she is somewhat familiar to me. Smiling again, she begins talking to me. Now at least I don’t feel so alone. She is very nice and with her I do not feel afraid.
Goc,
she says pointing to the humonic. Shei,
she said pointing at herself. Goc and Shei.
I acknowledged Lady Beautiful is named Shei with a nod. Analee,
I said pointing at myself.
Shei continues to check me out. She looks at my teeth, my eyes, my ears, and listens to my heart. When she is fully satisfied that I am not ill, she accepts me as not dangerous.
I miss Huron but have no idea how to get back – much less, how I even got here. It seems Lutsel is my new home for now. Where am I to go? I know nothing of this orb or these humonics. I must be satisfied here for now or at least try to feel satisfied.
Lou and Sheka have come to visit me and decide I can live with them. A new place on Lutsel, a new shelter, and now a new humonic familet is given to me. Zela and Sioto are offspring of Lou and Sheka and they also live in the shelter.
This is Analee,
Sheka
