CHAPTER 1
GROWING UP IN FOSTER
CARE "WILL WE
EVER BE LOVED?"
What an experience we had growing up in foster care, some good and some bad. Foster care was pretty much our whole lives. Were very grateful for the people that opened up there home and lives to me and my twin sister. It all started when our biological could no longer take care of us so she had to give us away to a foster home. We didn’t know our mom much but we do thank GOD that she gave birth to us and that she didn’t abort us when she had the opportunity to. Sometimes we didn’t understand why our family didn’t step up and take us in but everything happens for a reason. We love our family and we forgive them for what they could not do for us. It worked out for us because we wouldn’t have been the ladies that we are today. Separation caused good things for me and my twin sister. So if you ever feel like why me, Why am I in foster care? Don’t ever question what GOD is doing or what he is setting up for you in life. So let’s talk about our experiences in foster homes. The very first foster home we went to was at the age of 2 years old. In this foster home it was me and my twin’s sister and a husband and wife and her granddaughter which was a baby. In this foster home my twin sister and I had our very own rooms, which was very nice. In this foster home the husband and wife had a lot of anger for whatever reason and it really showed whenever they hit us, this was really known as abuse. We’re talking about there was blood and marks on us and we had no choice but to cover it up with clothes. Later on in this home me and my twin sister was sexually abused. The abused started from 2 years old to about 12 years old. The abuse was basically everyday. We was highly brainwashed in this home. For example if we wanted Easter baskets or Christmas presents then we had to let him penetrate us. So every time we wanted a toy or something then we had to let him touch us so growing up this was very normal we actually got really excited about getting things. This man was a deacon in the church but we forgive him. At the age of about 8 and a half my sister started her period. By the age of 9 which no one knows but my sister got pregnant. My sister gave birth to the baby and she gave birth in the house and the baby was killed right in front of us. I guess you’re wondering how we got out of this foster home. We told our foster cousin but she didn’t help us but she tried. So the man that molested us actually molested his blood niece and she told someone and then the cops came to the house and that’s how we
