BIOGRAPHY Steven M.F. Cohen is a Secular Franciscan, husband & father. He grew up in New York City where he attended the High School of Performing Arts, Queens College & the Manhattan School of Music. He is an elementary school teacher with over 30 years experience. While living in the city he taught at the United Nations International School. He is currently teaching music & conducting a childrens chorus in an inner city school in Upstate New York. He is a professional Santa and Father Christmas and is currently working on a book entitled: Confessions of a Shopping Mall Santa. He has written several childrens books yet to be published. He has been developing an exercise that he calls: Tai Ki Ro which is based on the principles and movements from Tai Chi and Aikido. He has lots of critters both domestic and feral. PREFACE

The way I see it is this: there are only two kinds of miracles on earth. There is the extraordinary/supernatural type where occurances of a mystical/magical nature cannot easily be explained using three dimensional concepts, and there is the everyday, ordinary, common miracle filled with wonder and awe that can be experienced in moment to moment happenings. It is the later that I focus on in this book. These Everyday Miracles which can be seen, heard, felt, smelled and tasted. One can also experience these miracles focusing on one’s own breath and just sitting still. Listening. Observing. Being alive and awake.

In everyday places and things one can find solace and dwell in the presence of the universe, returning to the infinite source, without beginning or end. Throughout the ages people have sung, spoken and written about such miracles. My hope is that the reader may find a photograph and/or quotation that speaks to their heart. Just Be. That’s
