    My Testimony

    I have had a few close encounters with death throughout my life. I have been blessed all my life but there have been at least four times that GOD was surely watching over me, for I know deep in my heart if it wasn’t for His grace, I wouldn’t be alive today. The first time that I can remember is when I was about ten years old. My cousin Mike, also ten, and I were playing on the factory pond in the winter of 1960. The pond was at the end of our dead–end street. Little did I know at the time that it would be an almost dead–end to my life.

    Anyway, the pond was frozen over with ice and we were calling ourselves ice skating, without the skates. Being the adventurous kid that I was, I decided to skate out in the middle of the pond, unlike the other kids that stayed safely close to the edge. I was running and sliding and having such
