About this ebook

Sacrifice comes with a price. There are levels and types of sacrifices. Whatever the case, the awesome sacrifice in history is the sacrifice for eternal life, for which Jesus offered himself for humanity. No one on earth has paid this type of sacrifice. Indeed, it is possible for someone to give up his life for another person to live. Such a sacrifice is only to salvage (not redeem) the person from temporary death by flesh. However, the sacrifice Jesus paid is to deliver us from both the first and second deaths. Therefore, if one values the sacrifice Jesus paid for the salvation of his soul, there is no sacrifice that is too much for such a person to render in terms of evangelism, intercessory prayer, church planting, and spending and being spent for the work of God here on earth. I think this is what Pastor Alex Ndukwe intends to convey to his readers in this book. He wants us to learn the secret of sacrifice, which Christ has paid, for us follow after his footsteps. So take a step of sacrifice and make sacrifice wherever you may be (Yoroms Gani, PhD).

    THE FOREWORD……

    There are several ways of meeting people in life that will change the course of your life, one of such ways are, laying hold on their legacies and principles in life, in this case, books. (Relevance of sacrifice)

    Having gone through this book relevance of sacrifice, the author Pastor Alex Ndukwe (a pastor in the Redeemed Christian church of God) has in few words penned down for humanity and particularly for the church, the A-Z of what it takes to succeed in life and ministry.

    This book relevance of sacrifice, i believe was borne out of deep studies, prayers and above all, spending quality time in God’s presence to have come up with these divine truths and revelations, presented in the simplest but profound way.

    I have known the author for about 5 years and can testify to the fact that he has a heart for God. No wonder the book RELEVANCE OF SACRIFICE.

    I therefore recommend this book to anyone who wants to enjoy the abundant life promised by our savior and lord JESUS CRIST, in Jn 10:10, to not only read the, but to practicalize all the principles and steps put forward by the author, from biblical evidence to the sound of victory. My prayers for you as you read and do, is that at the end of your life on earth, you’ll sing the victory song in Jesus name, --Amen. And for the author, my sincere prayers for you, is that the lord will take you to deeper places in Him where you’ll always be a blessing to your world in Jesus name.

    Shalom…

    INTRODUCTION

    In the Old Testament, we will recall that sacrifices of animals were offered to God at different occasions and there were reasons for these actions.

    Leviticus 1 verse 5 says;

    And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

    This is a proof that sacrifice during this period requires the sheading of blood Of animals, quality cannot be compromised, God can accept or reject such Offering like the case of Cain and Abel as recorded in the book of Genesis 4:4, according to this scripture God had respect for Cain’s offering because Of its high quality.

    There are three different types of sacrifices as recorded in the book Of 2 Chronicles chapter 29, they are as follows:

    1. Sin offering

    2. Peace offering

    3. Burnt offering

    1) Sin offering – sacrifice offered to achieve atonement for an individual, leader and congregation committing unintentional and intentional sin. God revealed to Moses in the book of Leviticus 4:1- 8

    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
