The author was born in West Texas and grew up all over the United States, traveling to almost all the fifty states. During his youth, it was not easy to make friends as he moved so much. One of his favorite places, no matter where he lived, was the local library. It offered an escape to all manner of fantastic places. Even now, it is a wonderful place to spend time in.
