AUTHOR’S PAGE
In the stillness of loneliness in the agony of rejection, I found an inner strength, that only god can give and that’s when I discovered my passion, my joy, and my calling to write. American Poet! was written to give strength to a black race from love embedded deep within America’s roots, for freedom and unconditional justice. I have been writing for the past 20 years and my passion grows with each new poem that I write. I am the author of 2 other published poetry books, A Sunday Sky!
, and American Poet, poems. Volume 2
. I pray these poems will inspire the American to be better tomorrow than who you and we are today.
Again thank you and to God be the glory for the manifestation of the written word through me... ………
Again thank you,

Spaces
I want to venture into a place where there is nothing,
a place where I got you and you got me,
no degradation or mediocrity, a thoughtless place where I am free
in the acquiesced blank spaces of my femininity, is freedom to my equality
to discover me, in the silence of my laughter in my deserving glory
and live and love and tell my story,
I want to venture into eternity in the g-spot of my mind,
and discover the empty spaces of time,
just you, just me, and nothing in mind!
My dearest
This is the last time I will come back to you,
the last time my pain will slip away
and obfuscated feeling dwindling
to another time, another place;
to love intertwined in fate
to the joy of your specious face,
for this is the last time I’ll returneth my dearest,
with a cachinnating smile and a soft spoken tear,
to a vow made from the heart,
the is the last time my dear,
this is my last touch of weakness,
the last time I’ll give breath,
to joy satiated by your love,
the is the last time my dearest…………
My Love
I am beautiful in his eyes for he sees within my sexuality,
when he looks through me from secret of my femininity,
he calls me pretty, lascivious, and lovely when he touches me,
and sees me for who I am, everything that I am, and who I want to be,
for his love lingers through eternity and his passion is intertwined in my mind,
and his heartbeat is my heartbeat, through adinfinitum in time,
cause I am beautiful in his eyes, specious as his eyes has ever seen,
when he looks at me through my wedding ring.
Seeds of a tree………….
A tree, a leaf, a stem,
the root the bud the limb,
the plant, the shrub, the weed,
every flower has a seed,
blossoming growing budding through time,
nature’s home in my mind,
the sun, the soil, the dirt the feed,
the hand, the love, the water, the need,
for the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree,
and equality isn’t far from free,
even a segregated branch blossoms beauty from a tree,
in a flower, and a petals equality,
in the trunk, the wood, the bark,
the cluster, the stalk, the dark,
growing the seed that grows the tree,
breaks the chain and shackle free!
Remembering Freddie!
She
I found beauty within myself, within the soul of my being, deep within my mirror
I found beauty within my sexism,
beauty within my Marxism,
beauty within my racism,
and my cheeks reanimated as a refulgenting midnight star,
as if god suddenly found favor, in sister, diva, and dame,
and a beautiful sound echoed in she, her, and me, in the call of my name,
and my chains were broken, and turned into bangles and beads to adorn my specious face,
as if the arms of god were around me with the warmth of change in embrace,
and looking through my own beauty I discovered the American Dream,
the woman I want to be, that the eyes of the beholder hadn’t seen,
and suddenly I saw beauty in the warmth of my smile, beauty in the dance of my feet,
beauty! abundant beauty in my body heat,
and impunity was my subterfuge to femininity in the shadows of my mind
chained within my own sexuality, and my own sensuality shacked by time,
now love is easy, inviting, and lovely, and joy, abundant, uplifting and free,
and beauty a panacea before age, and age before wisdom, creating my world in me,
and love is abundant growing from seed to seed,
from a mother, to a daughter, to a lover, and a wife,
abundantly growing, assiduously growing in my life,
and beauty is love and love is beauty, looking
