ACKNOWLEDGMENT
The authors of this book would like to thank all the individuals that gave us the opportunity to convey the word of God to them and those individuals who sat down with us to show us our short comings. We wish to continue to come into the homes of those individuals who desire to know more about their Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. To our dearly departed mother, Mrs. Jessie Brown and our father, Mr. George Brown for not with holding the rod to discipline us in the way of God and teaching us to become men. To our other siblings, Carl Bethay, Harry Brown, Laura Brown and Meda Bethay for being the great brothers and sisters you were to us. Lastly to my brothers' wife, Verna, who were a great sister-in-law to the family and looked upon as a daughter to our mother. Surely we appreciated her insight and counsel on the word of God. Thank you in the name of Jesus the Christ.

FORWARD
FOR THE WORD OF GOD IS QUICK AND POWERFUL AND SHARPER THAN ANY TWO EDGED SWORD, PIERCING EVEN TO THE DIVIDING ASUNDER OF SOUL AND SPIRIT AND OF THE JOINTS AND MARROW AND IS A DISCERNER OF THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTS OF THE HEART. SIN IS HARNESS THROUGH OBSERVATION AND BEGIN WITH THE THOUGHTS THEREBY BECOME REALITY THROUGH BEHAVIOR. THIS BOOK ATTEMPTS TO SHOW THE READER HOW GREED AND INDOCTRINATION THROUGH OBSERVATION AND INACCURATE KNOWLEDGE CAN BE DEVASTATING TO THE FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST. ONCE GIVEN A TASTE OF THE WORD OF GOD, IT CAN BE SWEET IN THE MOUTH BUT BITTER IN THE BELLY.

Georgia Rubenstein: Crystal Ruth's best friend
The scene is located in Miami, Florida on Christmas Eve, 1988... Girl you better not tell him that -- Georgia pleaded with Crystal. Georgia I have to be honest in the sight of God and my husband cried Crystal. Some things are best left in the past plus how can you be sure he will understand said Georgia. With tears in her eyes Crystal responded, I'm just going to have to trust the Lord. Well, you call me when you're finished, love you, Georgia hung up. Crystal thought about what her best friend said, but she also thought about what the scripture stated, confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that you may be healed,
and as always, since she chose to follow Jesus, Crystal was going to obey God! As she was meditating and trusting God to give her strength, the phone rang. The caller I.D. said county jail. It was Anthony, whom Crystal called Tony. When they first met he reminded her of the corn flakes character, Tony the Tiger! She let the phone rang four times before answering. Hey baby said Crystal. Before she could continue, Tony hollered get me out of here.
As always he was impatient and his outburst gave Crystal second thoughts about what needed to be cleared up, but she couldn't retreat. She said, honey, will you stop being so impatient, remember I didn't put you in there. With a very low and soft voice, Tony said, I know baby but I miss you so much. Crystal responded, I miss you too but God want us to trust him. This created an opening for her to clean her slate. Her words were a confirmation of what Bro. Mike had spoken during bible study with Tony. Honey, I need to speak to you first said Crystal. Yeah, what's up baby. Tony was ready to get down to the business of getting out. Taking a deep breath, Crystal blurted out, I had an affair. It was as if the wind was knocked out of Tony. It didn't matter that he had cheated on her some months prior. Honey cried Crystal, please don't hang up. I was upset at you for leaving me like this. It happened one time and I've repented and God has cleansed me up. I had to get it off my chest and I need you to forgive me also. Crystal's voice was cracking as tears ran down her face. For about two minutes there was no reply. Then Tony said, O.K. Crystal was surprised at how blunt and lackadaisical he spoke in light of her confession. Can we go on to what really matters, asked Tony. Tony words seemed very cold to Crystal but knowing it was best to leave well enough along, Crystal changed the subject. I'll be coming to visit you Saturday. Bring Pastor Love, replied Tony. Between his public defender botching up his case and what Crystal had just told him, he definitely needed prayer. Interrupting his thoughts, Crystal said sweetheart God want you to concentrate on him and he'll make a way. As much as Tony wanted to believe that, he was still without the peace which passes all understanding. Tony couldn't think straight, Crystal shouldn't have told him that. This did not appear to be the appropriate time. Just bring Pastor Love repeated Tony. Crystal we need to touch and agree as the bible commands. Crystal noticed that he wasn't using the endearments,
honey or baby" as he normally did. She wanted to push the issue but declined. Instead she said, honey we don't have money to pay him to come see you. Tony replied, will you ever forget about Pastor Love past. At this point Tony was becoming livid. I will when he becomes a new creature in Christ replied Crystal. Why can't you do what I ask you to do uttered Tony. I can, but I got to do what God commands me to do said Crystal. In spite of me being your husband said Tony. Yes, replied Crystal, if it conflicts with God's will. It was one thing Tony knew and two things for sure, he couldn't possible fight against God, nor change her mind once she was sure that this was God's will. Baby, God has your back and so do I said Crystal. You need to calm down and let God have his way. I guess you're right said Tony, how can I be forgiven of God and you when I can't forgive. Even though God gave us an opportunity to dissolve our marriage if we fornicate, it is imperative that we forgive each other if we stay together. I'm very glad I got you and I'm O.K. Tony remembered that his time on the phone was up, not to mention that Bobby was breathing down his back. Honey I've got to go. I'll call you tomorrow, I love you, be good. Of course I will said Crystal, bye. Tony hung up with tears in his heart.
The doorbell rung as Crystal hung up the phone. Looking thru the peephole, Crystal was surprised to see Pastor Love. Opening the door, Crystal greeted him. Hello Pastor Love, what bring you here? I heard thru the grapevine that Bro. T was in jail and the Lord knows I'm his brother keeper. As the Pastor spoke, his eyes was roaming. Crystal thought, why that didn't apply when we were trying to avoid foreclosure and asked for your help. Can I come in asked Pastor Love. Oh, excuse my manners said Crystal, I was preoccupied in my thoughts -- at least she didn't lie. Noticing the gleam in his eyes, Crystal realized her gown was open. She quickly closed it. Have a seat while I get dressed said Crystal, knowing her husband temperament when it came down to her. Some things were best kept to herself she concluded. Then what she revealed to Tony, she knew was a mistake. Why hadn't she listened to Georgia! As Crystal dressed, Pastor Love called out from the living room, this is a nice place you have here.
Crystal corrected what he blatantly left out, we like it
but thank you. Sister Apple, is there anything I can do for you, - pray, touch and agree, laying on of hands, what? Whispering to herself, Crystal said you can keep your laying on of hands to your front row Jezebel's. What was that, asked Pastor Love? I said you can assist us in meeting Tony's bail. Crystal made a mental note to repent. Anybody can pray but only a few will pay to help a brother out, cried Crystal. Walking into the living room, Crystal could see that he was a little uncomfortable, but she didn't let up. God wants us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. As the Holy Spirit began to take control of Crystal, Pastor Love cut her off, saying, O.K., O.K. I get the message. Giving glory to God, Crystal replied, this word isn't mind, but his who sent you. What was on Pastor Love mind quickly was dismissed. God word was sharp and powerful as a two edge sword, thought Crystal. He gave her the money.
The movement of Tony's mattress startled him. It was Sweet Bobby.
You sure you don't want my help? Bobby, I am not into men! How many times must I remind you of that? Tony was livid! As many times as I ask said Bobby, standing up and turning around in a circle. Sooner or later this is going to start looking like the real thing as he shook his butt. From the way his mind was spinning, Tony knew that Bobby wasn't too far from the truth. Tony had never been this long away from a woman and his dreams were becoming more vivid with each passing day. Actually, thought Tony, if Bobby's head was covered from the back, he'll look like a woman. The devil is a liar interrupted Mike as he sat on Tony's bed. Mike knew the Lord and his responsibility to bear the infirmities of the weak and be his brother keeper. Bobby you need Jesus said Mike. Bobby responded, if that thing between your legs is named Jesus, then you're right, come and lay hands on me! Glad that Mike had Bobby's attention, Tony turned to the wall and drifted off into a sleep thinking about Crystal. You know what Bobby, you really need to lay off Tony said Mike. If you're not going to be right don't let the devil use you to hinder others. Bobby stood up in what he called his diva
pose, looking at Mike as if that was the worst thing someone could have said to him. Who died and made you captain save-a-lot, said Bobby. Well the last I heard replied Mike, it was Jesus. He gave me this commission and you'll know the love of Jesus if you would hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. As they spoke, a guard hollered thru the bars, hey Anthony Apple! Get it all, you're bonding out. Mike shook Tony, get up bro., it's time to go. Will you all stop playing said Tony, as he felled back to sleep. O.K., stay your ass in there said the guard. Yeah, hollered Bobby, stay your sexy ass in here! Bobby's words snapped Tony out of his sleep and his unbelief. Tony immediately wrapped his personal items, leaving Mike most of his canteen and distributing the rest to the other inmates. Bobby cried, this all I get? Tony replied, Oh, my bag, here's a bible. So that's supposed to be funny, exclaimed Bobby. No, No, No laughed Tony, its suppose to impact your life. As Tony turned to leave, he heard Bobby say, two more days and you would have been leaving your mother and father and cleaving to me. The guard hollered, Bobby sit your gay ass down somewhere. Sucking his teeth, Bobby said you just want me all for yourself. The other inmates burst out laughing. Mike just shook his head. Down in the lobby Tony signed his release papers, but he began to feel bad that Bro. Mike was not leaving. Then he remembered that Mike assured him that the Lord always be on time. He may not come when you want him but he's always right on time. Tony remembered how Mike fasted and prayed for him. Of all the so called men of God, Mike reminded Tony of what it truly meant to follow Jesus. He also wondered if Mike was obedient because of his predicament. Mike was one brother Tony was going to truly miss.
Crystal passed Tony a set of keys as they left the building. What's these asked Tony. The keys to our new car smiled Crystal. Our car asked Tony, how did that happen? I told you the Lord provides said Crystal with joy in her eyes to see her husband. He used Pastor Love! Pastor Love, Tony said in bewilderment. He didn't say it but Pastor Love's background put a suspicious look in Tony's eyes. She told him about Pastor Love's visit and how the Lord gave her the right words to say. One plant, one water and God gives the increase said Crystal. Thank you Jesus! Tony shouted. The police was coming and turned to see what was wrong. Just happy to be free officers, cried Tony. Pulling out of the lot, Tony drove east on Riverfront Drive. Crystal asked, where are we going? By the church to thank Pastor Love, Tony responded as he lit his cigarette. I wish you will stop smoking those cigarettes said Crystal. Tony looked at Crystal and realized why he loved her so much. He threw the cigarette out. Leaning over to give him a kiss on the cheek, she said, honey I've already thanked Pastor Love for the loan. That's good, but I need to do that since I'm the head of this household said Tony with a smile at his wife. Crystal didn't respond looking at her husband with pride. She was so happy to have him back, her protector, provider and lover. Tony looked over to his wife to make sure she was alright with his suggestion. As they pulled onto the church parking lot, Pastor Love quickly stepped back from Sis. Jones but it was too late. Tony and Crystal saw everything. The Pastor and Sis. Jones had been kissing! This was what had been heard thru the church grapevine. Now Tony and Crystal understood clearly what the scriptures meant when it stated out of the mouth of two or three let every word be established.
Pastor Love tried to make light of what was obvious. He immediately greeted Tony and Crystal, then turning back to Sis. Jones, he said, a holy kiss is when we meet, not depart but God will forgive you for your misplacement of his word. The look on Sis. Jones face would have made demons cringe. How could he throw her under the bus in light of all the good times she had given him. Tony and Crystal acted as if it was no big deal but in their hearts they knew how they would view them in the future. Crystal followed Tony lead in being cool, calm and collected. Tony said, we came by to thank you for the loan and we are going to pay back every dime. Tony extended his hand. That ten grand came at the right time. Think nothing of it explained Pastor Love, even though he wished that Tony had not revealed the amount. No said Tony, I can't think nothing of it -- will a man rob God? But at any rate we thank you, love you and we'll see you on the Lord Day. See you Sis. Jones said Crystal and they drove off. Sis. Jones was livid, ten thousand dollars and I got to make out like a whore just to get a new dress.
Sis. Jones, remember we're on holy ground said Pastor Love. You wasn't worrying about holy ground when you had me bent over the alter paying your tithes
(that what he tells her as they have sex). And what about on the pews and the pulpit, damn it! Sis. Jones you're going to cause me to forget that I am a Pastor, his eyes were intense with fury. You idiot, you ain't no damn Pastor, you're a panty wearing faggot! She headed toward her car, then turned to face him saying -- and I'm pregnant! She got into her car and put Dale Earnhart to shame. Skid marks were on the asphalt and plumbs of smoke had Pastor Love coughing. The word pregnant felled from his lips as he headed back into the sanctuary. His heart race as thoughts of this negative revelation and the impact it would have on his standing as a Pastor in his church and the community, not to mention his marriage! Something had to be done. He could not lose everything that he had worked for. Too much was at stake, especially looking at how he got it. A woman scorned is a dangerous weapon. Pastor Love opened the safe in his office, a small brown bottle was just what he needed.
Hey Brother Mike, how are you, I'm glad you called. And Tony really was. How's the brethren? Give them my love. And who is that in the background asked Tony. That's Bobby, said Mike, he want to speak to you and please do so he can get out of my ear. Put him on said Tony. Hey Bobby, said Tony. You know my name mumble Bobby. And all that shit referring to me as a man, it ain't happening. I'm a lady. Bobby don't make me hang up, now what do you want? Tony was irritated. We ain't even made love yet and you're talking to me like that, exclaimed Bobby. Click. Oh no he didn't cried Bobby, I just know he didn't hang up on Mama Dear. I knew I shouldn't have let you on that phone said Mike, that won't happen again. Damn it groan Tony, I hung up on Bro. Mike. Maybe he'll call back. As Tony turned to embrace Crystal, she said honey I knew it. I sure hope Sis. Smith doesn't find out. Maybe that was just a holy kiss laugh Tony. Yeah right, said Crystal with half of her tongue in his mouth and his hands gripping her butt like a basketball? My bag said Tony, I guess I was in the spirit. Hey knucklehead, said Crystal when you're supposed to be in the spirit, you don't, you need to ask God to forgive you.
As Tony moved over to pray, Crystal said and while you're at it ask God to grant you truth in your inward man. She went down stairs to prepare dinner. Crystal also prepare her heart for the bombshell which was about to bombard Goodwill Tabernacle of Grace.
Sis. Jones phone rung a dozen times before she answered. What the hell do you want? She knew it was Pastor Love. Hey baby. Interrupting him, Sis. Jones said your baby is in my womb and don't be calling me baby. You ain't getting out of this, not this time. Will you stop it cried Pastor Love. I'm sorry for how I've treated you. He was up to his old con games. I've been under a lot of stress lately and I'm praying for the Lord to relieve me of these demons. Yeah, I know, mocked Sis. Jones, it's very stressful trying to come up with new ways of fleecing the flock. You bitch, yeah let it out hollered Sis. Jones, say what's in your heart! Pastor Love hung up. A few minutes later he called back. Before she could get one word out he laid it on. Baby, you know I love you. You're my soul mate, my confidant and all that what's in between. You're the milk on my flakes and without you I am nothing! If only she hadn't heard him repeat those same lines to one of his front row jezebels, she probably would have went for it. She had him over a barrel the same way he had her over the church altar giving it to her strong and long. But it was the information she had compiled and the money she was stealing that kept her bending over plus the money he was giving her to keep quiet. And now she was pregnant -- she had him nailed to the cross. She also figured without understanding the meaning of the scriptures when it said that the Lord stored up the wealth of the wicked for the righteous. And in her eyes she was more righteous than him. She believed that they were getting married until Caroline Smith came into the picture. After Pastor Love married Caroline Smith, she schemed to destroy their dreams. As secretary of the slush fund, and chief financial officer of the church, Sis. Jones knew where the money came from, who and how it was spent. She also knew the combination to his private safe, something his wife didn't know. So when Sis. Jones responded to him on the telephone, she sarcastically said, baby if you're nothing without me, then I need to be happy all the time or you won't be nothing. She hung up the phone slamming the receiver down hard. Pastor Love eased his phone down, speaking out loud -- this whore don't know who she's messing with! As he began to access how he was going to deal with her, across town Sis. Jones were packaging audio tapes of conversations they had about transactions of church funds and every sex act they performed including the spankings he loved for her to give him. All of their kinky sex acts were done inside of the church. When she wanted additional money to his objection, all that would be solved by her simply opening her legs. She knew his weakness and Sis. Jones pulled all the right strings. There was times when she'll just give him that look and he'll kick out money like a slot machine. All the pictures of him performing oral sex on her was kept in a safe place. When he was late meeting her, his excuse would be that he stopped by Sis. Maggie's house for prayer and counseling. All this was secretly recorded. This was good information because everyone in the church knew about Sis. Maggie, a
