The Triplet Werewolves - Rachel White

    Chapter 1

    LOCKED AWAY FROM THE WORLD

One cool, windy afternoon on November 18, 3002, in a mall parking lot surrounded by fields sat a single crimson truck, where three men stood by. Two of the men were leaning against the truck. They both were dressed in boots, jeans, and a white shirt under a jean jacket. You could tell by their bulky bodies and mannerisms that they were werewolves. The third man was dressed in all black, walking around and talking on his phone. You could tell by his posture that he was a vampire. The men were waiting not so patiently.

Forty-seven minutes later, a gray truck appeared in the horizon. As the gray truck pulled up and parked beside the crimson truck, the vampire walked up to it and talked to the driver. Then the man waved to his two werewolf friends, who picked up a crate in the back of the crimson truck and placed it in the cab of the gray truck.

The gray truck drove off onto a road for sixty miles until they pulled in onto a gravel road and pulled up in front of a big red brick house, where they unloaded the crate. The crate was taken down to the basement, which smelled of musk, with dim lighting. There was a small ledge connected to the wall with anchors half an inch under the red wooden door. The ledge had nine steps going down to the right, connecting to another ledge in the corner of the basement, which connected to five more steps to a third ledge in the middle of the basement. That connected to three steps that rested on the floor above the railing. To the third ledge was a window. On the right of the third ledge were a washer and a drier. The middle wall had two more windows, and on the wall opposite of the third ledge was another window. In the corner was the heater and hot water tank. Between the hot water tank and the staircase was a spare room with a wooden floor, where some bulky men were waiting around in silence as the crate was placed in the center of the room. These men were clearly werewolves. The alpha was watching as the crate was being unlocked and then opened, revealing three identical petrified young boys. The boys were frightened, tired, and hungry. They could barely move. As the men looked down in the crate at the children, all three boys had blond hair but defiant eyes. They don’t look like human children, said a man with blond hair.

Have you ever seen a human child? asked a man with red hair.

Yes, Father, I have, replied the man with blond hair.

Let’s get them cleaned up. They smell, said a man with black hair, who was the alpha. He pulled out one of the children, who screamed. He looked into the boy’s navy blue eyes and said, This one must be Nick, and then handed the boy to a man with light brown hair.

He then grabbed another boy with grass green eyes. This is Josh. He can’t speak, he said and then handed him to another man with night black hair. The last boy had dark brown eyes. He tried to jump out of the crate but was caught by another man.

They cleaned the three boys and dressed them in clean clothes. The boys were dressed in white tennis shoes and blue jeans but had different shirts on. Their shirts matched the color of their eyes. Once they were dressed, they were tattooed with the pack symbol on their right shoulder blade. The three boys cried themselves to sleep in the men’s arms as two other men brought a mattress down the basement steps and placed it on the floor. The men gently lay the three boys on the mattress, covered them with a blanket, and then left and locked them in the basement as the three boys dreamed of their family.

The next morning, three men came downstairs to feed and check on the boys. They tried to feed them, but they wouldn’t eat. They just lay still and didn’t move. They were still in a lot of pain and so exhausted from crying. That night, they crawled under the staircase and hid. They wished they were home with their family. After the third night of being in the basement, the pain was lessened but not gone. The sun was no longer shining into the basement as the lights flickered to life. The boys were quietly talking to each other under the steps. Nick turned to his brother and asked, Alex, why’d they hurt us?

    I don’t know.

Should we tell them we’re werewolves?

No, we promised, and he promised to come for us.

Where is he? I want Mommy and Daddy.

    I do too

    Daddy would protect us.

    At least we’re still together.

I want to go home, said Nick, who started crying. Josh then hugged his brothers. They fell asleep and cuddled up with one another under the staircase, where they dreamed of home.

The next morning, the three men came downstairs to feed the boys. The first man was 6'3 and was dressed in black boots, blue jeans, a white T-shirt and had ice blue eyes and night black hair. The second man was 6'1 and was dressed in black boots, black leather jeans, a white T-shirt with two black dragons and had dark brown hair and golden eyes. The third man was 6'1 and was dressed in black boots, blue jeans, a black shirt with a white tiger and had light brown hair and golden eyes. They all had a silver chain around their necks, with a symbol hanging from the chains. The symbol was round like the full moon with six bars that held a round black diamond in the center. Boys, come out here," they called.

You boys need to eat. We won’t hurt you, said the man with ice blue eyes as Alex peeked out.

Hi, kid. My name is Robby. What’s your name? asked the man

A-Al-Alex, said the boy as his stomach growled.

Well, Alex, are you hungry? asked Robby.

    Ye-yes, said Alex.

Then come here, and I’ll give you some food, he replied, We even have some for your brothers. Nick peeked out from behind Alex as Robby kneeled down. Nick and Josh watched Alex walk up to Robby and the two other men. Robby handed a plate of food to Alex.

After a minute, Nick then crawled out from under the stairs and slowly walked up to Robby and Alex. Nick tripped, and one man picked him up and said, Hi, I’m Bobby. Robby’s my twin, and what’s your name?

    Nick, he said.

Well, would you like some food? asked Bobby

Ye-yes please, said Nick in a soft voice. Bobby gave Nick a plate of food, but Josh stayed under the stairs. One of the men walked over toward him and looked under the stairs. The man’s name was Ray. He tried to get Josh to come to him, but Josh didn’t move. Ray quickly grabbed Josh and pulled him out from under the stairs. He got loose and quickly ran over to his brothers. Ray snatched Josh, but he bit him and ran in Bobby’s direction. Bobby grabbed Josh, but Alex and Nick attacked him, allowing Josh to get away. Robby then snatched Alex. Nick screamed as Bobby grabbed him and covered his mouth. Josh stopped in his tracks. Ray quickly apprehended Josh, but Josh then twisted around, bit Ray’s arm, and ran to the other side of the room. Ray glared at Josh and yelled, Come here! Josh shook his head no, taking a deep breath.

Ray tried to calm his anger, knelt down, and said, Now will you come here? Josh again shook his head no. Your name is Josh, right? Josh nodded his head yes. Can you come here? Josh shook his head no again. The anger left Ray’s eyes as he asked, Why? Do you think I’ll hurt you? Josh nodded his head yes as he started to cry. He remembered the pain from the tattoo on his shoulder blade.

There was no sign of anger on Ray’s face, but Josh knew he was hiding his anger as Ray said, It’s okay. I won’t hurt you if you come here. Josh backed up and looked at Nick and Alex. Alex was dangling in Robby’s arms, struggling to get loose, with his back against the man’s chest. Alex was kicking, hitting, headbutting, and trying to bit Robby. Robby laughed. He thought the little boy was so adorable trying to get free, while Nick was being held by Bobby the same way. Only Nick was trying to push Bobby away. Unlike Alex, Nick didn’t kick or hit Bobby; he just pushed and yanked at Bobby’s hands and occasionally growled at him, who would chuckle and say, Nice puppy.

Ray watched as Nick and Alex stopped struggling and instead both looked at Josh. which made Ray smile as he said, Bobby, give me Nick. Without hesitation, Bobby gave Nick to Ray. Nick screamed and started crying.

Ray gently whispered in Nick’s ear, Shh. Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you, as Josh locked his eyes on them. Ray knew he had the boy’s undivided attention.

With a shady smile, Ray asked, Do you want your brother? Josh nodded his head yes. He wished his big brother was here to protect him and his brothers. Still smiling, Ray locked eyes with Josh. He knew the boy was afraid of him, but his love for his brothers was stronger.

Ray asked, If I let Nick go, will you come here? Josh shook his head no.

Getting frustrated, Ray asked, Why not? Ray followed Josh’s eyes to Robby, who had hold of Alex against his chest, with his arms pinned across his tummy by Robby’s right arm and his little legs dangling in the air over Robby’s left arm.

With a sigh, Ray asked, If Robby lets Alex go, will you come here? Josh slowly nodded his head yes. They released both boys.

Ray locked eyes with Josh and said, Okay, Josh, come here. Josh slowly walked toward Ray, who took hold of Josh’s arms and pulled Josh toward him. Josh knew he was in trouble. His brothers ran toward Ray but were grabbed again by Robby and Bobby.

Josh did you bite me? asked Ray. Josh looked at Alex and Nick.

Josh! yelled Ray as he tightened his grip and jerked Josh.

Stop it. Live him alone, cried Nick before Bobby covered his mouth. Josh reluctantly looked at Ray. He could hear his brothers struggling behind him.

Anger returned in Ray’s eyes as he growled, Answer me! Josh then nodded his head yes.

Are you sorry? asked Ray. Josh nodded his head yes. Will you do it again? Josh shook his head no.

Ray growled, Good. He picked Josh up and took him upstairs. Josh was seen by his brothers still struggling over Ray’s left shoulder as they left the basement. He was taken through the living room to another room, where he was locked in.

Ray looked into Josh’s grass green eyes and softly said, Okay, this is how it works. Either you eat on your own or I’m going to force-feed you. Understand? Josh took a quick glance at the door and nodded his head yes.

With a smile, Ray said, I’m gonna put you down know, okay? Again, Josh nodded his head yes. Once Ray put little Josh down, he ran to the far corner of the room.

Still smiling, Ray said, I’ll be back with some food. Josh watched as he left the room. Minutes later, Ray returned with a folding table and chair. Josh bolted for the door but stopped when he saw Robby enter the room with a plate of food and lock the door with his free hand. After setting up the folding table and chair, the two men left the room, leaving Josh alone once again.

Josh looked over the food. It didn’t look good at all. There were round orange things with little green balls, yellow gravy over mashed potatoes, and strips of chicken. Josh assumed the orange and green things were vegetables. Yucky. Sitting on the chair, Josh quietly thought, They can’t make me eat that. No, I won’t eat it. They can’t make me. I don’t like vegetables or birds. I’m a werewolf, and werewolves don’t eat. This stuff is yuck. And with that thought, Josh knocked the plate onto the floor.

Josh daydreamed of his big brother. His big brother’s name was Ricky. He had ashy gray eyes and bleach blond hair. Josh remembered the promise his brother made a couple of months ago. He thought, Maybe if I turn into a werewolf, these men will get scared and return me and my brothers home. So Josh concentrated as hard as he could. But nothing happened.

As the door opened and the three men entered the room, Ray’s eyes looked from Josh to the food, which was now on the floor, and back to Josh. Ray sighed and asked, Why is your food on the floor? Josh looked down and put his hands on his cheek and gasped in shock, which made Bobby chuckle until Ray glared at him.

Ray walked up to Josh and asked, Did you knock the plate over? Josh shook his head no. How’d it get on the floor? Josh shrugged with an innocent smile.

Smiling back, Ray asked, If I bring you another plate, will you eat it? Josh shook his head no, Your brothers eat theirs. Josh stuck out his tongue and made a yuck face.

Ray scooped up the spilled food on to the plate and handed it to Bobby and said, Take this to the kitchen, and bring some paper towels please.

Okay, said Bobby, who took the plate and left the room. Ray turned his attention back to Josh, who was swinging his legs under the chair and smiling up at the two men. Ray didn’t want to force-feed Josh, but he would if he had to, which he might have to.

Gently placing his hand on Josh’s left shoulder, he asked, Did you at least try it? Josh shook his head no. I think you should. You might like it. Just then, Bobby walked in the room with a bag and paper towels in one hand and a plate of food in the other. Robby took the bag and paper towels from Bobby and cleaned up Josh’s mess. When Robby was done, Bobby put the new plate of food in front of Josh, who pushed it away. Ray reminded Josh that if he didn’t eat, Ray would force-feed him. Josh tried to knock the plate off the table, but Bobby caught it, and then both him and Robby grabbed Josh and held him still so Ray could force-feed him. Josh kicked and screamed, biting the three men, choking and coughing every time he screamed as Bobby and Robby held him down as Ray force-fed Josh. This went on for seventeen days.

One morning, the men came downstairs to feed the triplets. They found the triplets under the stairs. They pulled the boys out, but the triplets wouldn’t move. They took the triplets upstairs and into a room and then gave them medicine. The triplets were sick for two weeks. Once the triplets were up and playing, they were taken back downstairs later that day. Josh still refused to eat, while Nick and Alex cried for their mom, dad, and big brother every night. Josh would try to talk, but nothing would come out. The three men came down to feed the triplets. Alex and Nick ran up to them. Ray sat on the floor and asked, Are you going to eat? Josh ran up to Ray and finally started to eat on his own, mainly because Ray started giving him good food, like yummy deer and beef. The three men would come downstairs to check on the triplets, feed them, and watch them play.

    Chapter 2

    THE WRATH OF WEREWOLVES

Years passed, and the triplets slowly forgot about their mother’s love, about their fearless father, about the promise their elder brother made to them, and that they were werewolves. Nick was looking out the window at the birds flying in the sky. The sunlight was peeking into the basement. Alex woke up and crawled out from under the staircase. Alex looked up at his brother looking out the window and then saw Josh playing by himself in the far corner. Alex heard a clatter coming from above him. Alex looked up, expecting the three men to come downstairs and give them breakfast. Normally, mornings smelled sweet but not today. He wanted to know why. Was there something wrong, or did the men forget breakfast again? The last time they forgot was when they were all sick, and they had another man, named Shawn, care for the triplets.

Shawn was the pack doctor. He was blond with baby blue eyes and was always dressed in white shoes, blue jeans, and a white shirt. He would sometimes give the triplets candy. Shawn also had a young helper, named Damian, who was a nine-year-old human slave, but Shawn was never mean to him. The four boys would play together when Shawn was around. Damian was dressed in boots, blue jeans, and a black shirt, with a black leather collar around his neck with Damian written in silver. He has short night black hair and blue eyes. Shawn came by once every other week. The three men and Shawn would hang out in the living room or go out on the lake and fish or go hunting with
