Dinah L. Powell

In 1990, I became the literate of the year for my poem, Morning Whispers. My pace has never slowed down. I continued to write for the next 20 years. My love for poetry, novels, and inventions has fulfilled my needs as an artist. I truly hope my imagination will quench your thirst for a great read. Dinah L. Powell

    INTRODUCTION

The Bloodline, A Strain of Madness will open a path and allow you to step out into shear madness unleashed on unsuspecting victims, faced with out of control lunacy. A whole generation of unsound seeds from the back woods of Tennessee. Old Man Talbot was as far back as I could go, but decades ago, I’m sure this started. It was too deeply rooted to not have been prevalent before his 5 offspring hit the ground running. None of them knew about the curse. They thought they were normal. He left his legacy of 5 in serious need of physiological help.

    B.L.

Old man, Richard Talbot, was born in 1890. He was finally put to rest out in the Prairie Cemetery without raising his offspring. He left his legacy in need of physiological help.

In his heyday, he was wild as oats and horses. Nobody in town knew where he came from. He came to town about 1 year ago in 1930. He said he was just drifting looking around for some place to settle down, when Sheriff Hudson offered him a job taking care of the jailhouse and feeding the horses.

Talbot accepted the job. His other reason for staying was Ruby, a young woman with a 5 year old little boy, Tom, and Ruby was raising him by herself. Talbot was 42 years old. Ruby was turning 25, when Talbot heard about it.

He left a bunch of wild flowers on her front porch. Ruby’s next door neighbor, Pearl had baked her a cake, and sat it on Ruby’s kitchen table. Pearl invited a few other people from town and Talbot was one of them. Ruby felt a few butterflies in the pit of her stomach when Talbot stepped onto the porch. She thanked him for the flowers and invited him in with her other neighbors.

This was the first time she celebrated her birthday in a couple of years. She was grateful her friends thought so much of her. Everyone had a good time telling old stories about the town’s people. The party wound up on Ruby’s front porch as they dwindled down to a few. Ruby, Tom, and Talbot sat together squeezing another piece of Miss Pearl’s butter soft cake down. Talbot finally said goodnight and asked if he could see her again. Talbot was becoming a real fixture around her house.
