The Word of My Testimony is a book of poetry chronicling my life from a fledgling Christian to a seasoned soul winner. It is about the challenges of Christianity; the struggle between flesh and spirit. Christianity is an impossible way of life. It can only be done successfully when one is totally focused on Jesus and walks in the power of the Holy Spirit. Ive known the highs of victories and the lows of defeat. I have known awesome experiences with God. I love adventure and a degree of danger. God got loads of that for the one so inclined. Once one serves God, one becomes addicted to serving God. There is nothing like it. Id be willing to pay God just to allow me to serve Him. But such is not necessary. I have seen God go after people who the world had totally given up on. There is nothing that is even remotely close to the satisfaction, excitement, intimacy, and sense of accomplishment one experiences when one partners with God.
If people, including Christians, really know God,they will see that He will absolutely blow you away with His wonders to behold. God is no old man with a long beard napping on His royal rocking chair. And thats the goal of this book. To inspire, instruct, and encourage Christians to seek greater intimacy with God. For sure, one can be saved without experiencing intimacy with God. But thats like having a trillion dollars but only spending one dollar. It is also my goal to inspire the unsaved to discover Jesus, the One who loves them more than anything that He created. The book is really about Jesus' Lordship and guiding Hand in my life. Hes in every word, every rhyme, every praise, and every heartache. Its' about when He chastens His disobedient child. What makes Christianity supernaturally exciting is Jesus. Its a waste of time to be a Christian and not be intimate with Jesus. its' similar to being married and not experiencing intimacy and excitement with your spouse. It is a tragedy to be a Christian and not serve Jesus in some capacity. Its' like having a trillion dollars and spending just one.

Lance Watson

I was born on March 23, 1953 in Trenton, New Jersey. I am retired and reside in New Jersey. My parents were Joseph and Doris. I was extremely close with my father who, in my eyes, was a great man. He died when I was ten. I have two sisters, Gwendolyn and Sandra, both of whom I love very much. The single most important person in my life was an aunt named Alice T. Griffin, sister of Joseph. She was the one who suggested that I try my hand at poetry when I was thirteen years old. I never thought of this before even though my mother was a passionate poetess. No human being on earth stands taller in my eyes than my Aunt Alice. Jesus is my passion. I exist for His pleasure and purpose. I am a soul-winner. God has used me to lead approximately 310 souls to Jesus Christ, all one-on-one, spanning three plus decades. Soul winning is my second passion. Poetry is my third.

THE LORD'S CALL

Jesus Christ

The God-Man

Out of Glory

Christ descended,

clothing Himself in human skin.

Through a virgin girl

He entered our world

to redeem His bride from sin.

In His Flesh

Christ revealed

the Will of His Father to fallen man.

Begotten from above,

matchless in His love,

He's the cornerstone of God's redemption plan.

In the Spirit

Christ defeated

sin, death and the wicked one.

They bruised His heel,

His blood they spilled,

but death bowed down to the Risen Son.

Unto Glory

Christ ascended

to prepare a place for His Own.

At His Father's side,

He awaits His bride,

to share with her His Heavenly home.

The Making Of A Holy Bride

Conceived

in an eternal heart.

Souls

nurtured in the womb

of Holiness;

sustained by

the elixir

of Diving Passion.

A beautiful woman

kissed into being

by

The Sovereign One.

A gift

from the Eternal One,

snatched away.

A blessing

of inconceivable wonders,

twisted

into a curse

of unfathomable horrors

by

I will.

The divine gene,

mutated.

The everlasting

broken

into little pieces

of time.

Moments

now priceless,

even desperate,

windows of opportunity.

Tragically,

most remain shut.

Adam and Eve,

miraculous mirrors

designed

to reflect God's glory,

become

dark and gnarled shadows.

Spirits,

engineered to sing

in harmony with

The Holy Spirit,

scream

their own sounds

of dissonance.

They screech

in rhythm to

I will.

But

in a valley

there was a

Lilly.

In the land of Sharon

there was a

Rose.

This Lilly,

this Rose,

so perfect in beauty and grace,

attracted

a dove from Heaven.

Upon the head

of an Innocent One,

weaved into

His curly locks,

the dove

found

The Lilly

and

The Rose.

This innocent One,

so full of sorrows,

knelt

in a garden.

His sweat,

blood-red with fervor.

His heart

pulsing,

bursting

with a love

that

would slay Him.

His lips

uttering words

to

The Sovereign One,

"Not as I will,

but as You will."

He arose

from his knees,

impaled Himself

to a tree,

and

embraced the world.

Out of His wounds,

poured blood.

Out of His blood,

poured life.

And

out of Himself

He brought forth

His bride.

The Bible

The Bible,

simply put,

is a road map

charting the course

from earth to heaven,

from death to life,

from time to eternity.

The course is blood-splattered,

bearing the footprints

of the God-Man,

The Christ,

JESUS

Soul Hunter

Before I was born, God set my goal,

to seek out the lost soul.

As a Soul Hunter am I called,

to rescue victims of the fall.

No human training have I received;

my Trainer and Captain is The Trinity.

He sends me to the darkest parts,

where fear grips the captive heart.

In secret I go to the hidden place,

where sinners hide from Heaven's Grace.

Boldly I enter the regions of hell

to speak The Word against Satan's spell.

Wherever I'm sent, demons flee,

fearing the Christ who reigns in me.

Like Philip in Acts, so am I,

imbued with power from On High.

The power in me is not my own;

it flows from God's Heavenly Throne.

No personal glory do I seek;

Jesus is Lord! is what I speak.

Flanked by angels on either side,

The Holy Spirit within me resides.

No power on earth can thwart my way;

walls fall down whenever I pray.

Satan fights as such a frenzied pace,

knowing he's about to lose his place.

His demons shoot their fiery darts,

but my shield of faith guards my heart.

Awesome adventures have I known,

as I team with God to redeem His own.

Many a soul we snatch from the fire,

souls held fast by sin's desire.

Few there be who walk this path,

ever fearful of Satan's wrath.

But those found faithful in this endeavor

will surely shine like the stars forever.

So hear me well demon and man,

in God's presence do I stand.

I tread behind enemy lines

to free the soul that Satan binds.

This war I'll fight until the end;

through me God's Kingdom will extend.

My resolve is sure, my passion great;

my mission ends at Heaven's gates.

A Soul Hunter from my birth,

thus I sojourn in the earth.

No greater calling can there be

than to introduce you to The Trinity.
