Anne R. Murray

Anne R. Murray is a native Georgian. Her roots are from the Southeastern region of the United States. She is the sixth generation born here from the old country. Anne was raised on Christian beliefs and traditions. She has three sisters and her parents are still living. Dr. Murray is a retired schoolteacher, earning a doctorate in education while teaching. She uses the element of time to capture the essence of her writing. Anne delivers her heart and soul every time. Her strengths are her emotional portrayal of the characters in the story. The narration is delivered by presenting the main character in third person (she or her), as she expresses her thoughts. Shattered Dreams is a story of suspense, drama and adventure at the same time. There are some terrifying moments in the book. About the Author

I dedicate this book to my mother, Odene, who encouraged me to continue writing poems everyday. Without her support and encouragement, I would not have been inspired to write this book. Through her inspiration, I was able to finish this book, as well as give this book a great title.

    Acknowledgments

I want to acknowledge many people in writing this book. Many have contributed in helping to make this book possible.

First of all, I want to especially thank Lindsay for his blurp for the back cover. His consideration and time is much appreciated.

I want to thank the many bloggers that read my poetry this year. Without their reviews and responses, I would not have been inspired to write poetry.

In addition, I give a lot of gratitude to my friends and supporters that brighten my day with kind words and praise.

I give thanks to AuthorHouse for the courtesy of the image to the front cover. Much thanks to the staff for their guidance and direction.

    Introduction

Poetry was something I occasionally did in college. Writing poems to my boyfriend(s) once in a while was a habit, not a particular interest of mine. I became interested in poetry the first of the year when I entered a poetry blogging course. Within two weeks, I was conformed. I learned different styles and kinds of poems. Now I love poetry.

One particular poem I learned was the haiku. The traditional form of Japanese poetry called haiku, a form comprising seventeen syllables in three lines – traditionally five then seven then five syllables. I haven’t had much experience with the haiku. I can’t say it is my best loved form of poetry. I enjoy it but prefer the longer poems.

I give credit to my mother, who continues to give me encouragement for writing poems. Some are happy and some are sad. It is a mixture of events in my life. My dark side darkness and my light side lightness are affected. Bloggers seem to response to my darkness more rapidly. An interesting observation in that
