    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

God has faithfully equipped us all, and in the process, some of us have became more and more passionate about the word of God. God has placed me in the midst of caring and loving Christians. God has shown me the excellence and holy passion of those who are truly supportive. I also would like to acknowledge Pastor Larry Brooks and First Lady Mattie Brooks of Pilgrim MBC and also the church family who was supportive every step of the way. (Luv-U-All)

I also would like to acknowledge, the Kennedy family, they have been great role models, as well as a mentor to my son Jermaine. The Lindsay family has also been extremely nice to the family. I thank God daily for the mother of this family, she is up every morning, preparing lunch for the elderly in the community, She is up in age herself, but she gets around good for her age, she make sure my mother and Mr. Thomas and also her grand kids eats a balance meal every day, you can’t find to many friends nor family members, that would go the extra mile. I also would like to acknowledge her daughterwho cared for Mr. Thomas when he really needed someone, special thanks to Carl, who took the time out to help us out with food and etc., he’s also a caring and loving gentleman, he was there for my sister, and I’m so grateful for that, and I thank God for this family so much.

Special thanks to Jan who was willing to help out, when help was needed.

I pray and hope that God will continue to bless and keep this family in his loving care.

    Life As A Child

L iving a childhood life was great, as for as I can remember. We lived in Richmond, Tx. I attended Northside Elementary School. The teachers was nice also the students.

The neighbors in the community were friendly also they shared their food and we got along well with each other.

My mother was a housewife, and she couldn’t drive. Mother made sure our meals was on time, and our clothes was always nice and cleaned. My father worked at Imperial Sugar Co, he was a hard worker, he loved to work a lot of overtime.

My father, mother didn’t live to far from us, we use to visit her on the week-end, she was a strange grandmother. Grandmother was very unhappy. She never liked to go outside, she always stayed inside. The house she lived in was always dark and smelly. The only time she would come out, is when she go shopping.

We didn’t care to much for this grandma, but we loved our other granny, she was so cool. In the late 60’s we had a house built in Sugar Land, and we couldn’t wait to move in it. We asked mother daily, when are we going to move, she would say soon. The weekend was an exciting for us, because we would go to Sugar Land to see the house. My mother would tell us, it won’t be long. The neighbors in Sugar Land, were so happy for us, they welcome us to the neighborhood, and they all said, if we can help out in anyway, please don’t hesitate to call on us. My mom and dad said O.K.

The summer came and we was in Sugar Land every weekend looking at the house. We would ask the
