About this ebook

This book is about interplay of politics of impoverishment, creating gaps between the haves and the have not. it touches in a light manner the reality in the developing world; what people do to get rich at the expense of morality, ethics and values. The book x-rays avalanche of problems in the society and single out satirically- greed - at the root of all moral ineptitudes.
All in all, the author use societys raw materials to see through the eye of needle in exposing the ills in the society, and roughly conclude that at the peak of it all the downtrodden can forge a formidable force in a subtle way to redeem their future taken.

    COVER NOTE

Emancipation of the whole community will take the head of only one giant and no more! This is an artistic piece, which x-rays the political arena of Omafu Village. It outlines what goes wrong, exposing the common power in the ordinary citizens to effect a change.

The political theatre of Omafu village had reduced them to nothingness owing to lack of visionary leadership until Adeyi - the Don came. The carryover of their ignorance in voting really condemned them into a known pit against their wish, though. The people of Omafu knew the reason for their plight but lacked the willpower to break the jinx and free them. Therefore, shylock politicians such as Adakole seized the opportunity to trade their innocent consent for a token - the actual fund for public utilities. The villagers became a Hitler’s Jew in this political tussle.

The homecoming of Adeyi raised the hope of many citizens that were hungry for a leader who would, against all odds, work for their liberation. Indeed, it paid off after intense politicking. The memory of the teacher, who was the bedrock of this movement, could not be forgotten, as his wife Igbe became an elected candidate. However, like a lonely voice in the wilderness, Igbe was faced with a tough challenge in tempestuous politicking as the light she carried or so she thought went off before the night fall.

The power gluttons normally were too sure of themselves - a hubris that stands tall against them in unusual circumstances. The truism that what goes around, comes around is a bulwark against the likes of Adakole. More precisely, this play is a prompter’s pamphlet which nudges ordinary citizens to wake up from their sleep and deploy their tactical power to change their lots.

    DAY ONE

(The stage light beams at the young determined youths gathering at the township square engaged in a hot argument whether the elections will take place or not. Then Adeyi, the Don appears in a complete black mafia coat and black goggles leaving his goatee unkempt. He is the first and only son of Omafu village to be
