Sometimes I Daydream: A Collection of Poetry
()
About this ebook
Since the death of his sister in 2013, Richard Adcock has been searching for the meaning of life and answers to lifes greatest questions through poems that explore grief, loneliness, and pain and consider whether God really understands the human heart.
With a raw and emotionally honest style, Adcock shares poignant reflections that contemplate his search for a purpose, his past, the consequences of unhealthy choices, the joys of new life, and the journey of death. Through his moving poems, Adcock demonstrates to others that no matter what our challenges, we are all in this life together.
Sometimes I Daydream offers a lyrical glimpse into one mans walk through his trials as he works through loss, questions his purpose, and learns to view the world differently.
Richard Adcock
Richard Adcock was born in Kansas City, Missouri, where he has resided since. He began writing poetry in 2013 as a way to work through the grief after his sister died. This is his first collection of poems.

Sometimes I Daydream
Sometimes I daydream.
I dream about life,
Trying to find a purpose.
What’s the meaning?
I search for answers.
I find no solutions.
I search for peace.
I find distress and frustration.
What is the meaning of life?
It’s vague and uncertain.
I wonder who’s in control.
Who guides my steps?
I reach down to the ground.
I grab a handful of dirt.
I see myself as I am:
Dust, dirt, and ashes.
For a while, I will see my shadow
Before the decaying begins,
And then it’s dust to dust.
The dust was made for the dead.
I guess I’m already dead.
How can I be dead?
I have no peace,
And in death there is peace.
Looking for that exit.
Each new day I awake,
The sunrise becomes my enemy
Like a demon that torments a soul.
I keep looking for a purpose
Like a hungry dog searching for food.
