    A Poem Story

Many years ago, when I was in high school, thinking I was

hard, knowing I was cool, limber, flexible the dancing king,

the best at school, my ego would grow, after every talent show.

I walked with a mean stroll, never had probation or parole.

I just walk like that. I use to wear braids, hairnet and a black

apple cap, and a black jacket with white letters Zack on

the back and my homeboy John Wayne, use to dance and

dress the same, everyone thought we were twins, but

    we were really best friends.

In our senior year we started dressing Zoot Suit, not with a

chain like the Latino gang, but like the gangsta’ on T.V., we

    called it Zooted-Up understand me.

We also were in a dance group, our pants were baggie,

but they never sag or droop.

The Magnificent Majestic’s was our name, we turned out the work

shop Carolina West, Moody’s, Dotoe’s and Name of The Game.

All Competitors we made feel shame, and we knew we were the blame.

The other two Majestic’s was Pocket and Cee, we also

    turned out everyone’s house party.

Yeah! We use to get down, we were the talk of the town.

As time past we started to sing, we all had a good voice.

We could sing and dance, whatever your choice. We were young, I thought we’d last; now that we’re middle-aged our time has passed.

    Gifts From God

God gave me talent which I abused

The talent that He gave me I never used

I could have sung and danced for his glory

Now those gifts are gone, but I still tell the story

Remember when I could sing and dance
