Editing these poems decades later, I am remembering something that I lost or surrendered. As a young adult, I struggled to reconcile awareness of my higher self and spirit guide with the day-to-day reality. As a result, I lost faith in both. Today, at fifty-four years young, I have come home to the open channel of youth. My higher self and spirit guide are a comfort to me still. They have cared for and protected me in some of the most peculiar situations. I have listened to them and ignored them over the years. They have loved me unconditionally, regardless. Life is a journey that explores the spiritual realms of Being, weaving our souls contracts into meaningful purpose.

Jeanne Campbell

Jeanne P. Campbell was born July 28, 1960, in Erie, Pennsylvania. She left home at seventeen and moved to San Francisco, where a lot of her poetry was written. She returned to Pennsylvania, where she raised three children for the most part as a single mom as she worked her way through college. She received a BS in secondary education with a concentration in English and an MS in secondary education and curriculum instruction. Her eclectic interests include yoga and hypnotherapy, in which she has obtained certifications for both. Ms. Campbell is an avid explorer and embraces change as a means of spiritual and intellectual growth.

PREFACE

This collection of poetry begins sometime in 1978. I have deliberately kept them put away in a folder somewhere all of these years for multiple reasons not worth going into. When I was composing them, I felt the strength of my expression, a connection to something bigger than me, the Universe I suppose. I wrote them in solitude but never really felt alone during the process. In the private interactions with my pen and paper, I had a sense of completeness even though the content may state otherwise. All that I felt and experienced could be expressed and explained. I lived in the present and was quite content for a period of time. Though, I did have trouble reconciling my private hobby if you will with my experience in the world of work and socializing.
