About this ebook

"A Few Choice Words" is a unique and intuitively written selection of modern poetry. Baker has crafted an avant garde collection that caters to the dynamic of the human spirit. Each poem commits to capturing fragments of human emotion that are often left indescribable.

Journey through the verses that follow and find yourself face-to-face with love, fear, faith, equality, (in) justice, transformation, and many other facets of Self. With each poetically laced line, the author hones in and speaks directly to the heart of the reader; homage is paid to women--- the rhythm makers; forgiveness is found in front of the microwave; reality is accepted after being detangled from a dream catcher; Fukushima remembered in a precise news report. Prepare to find yourself lost and then found again as you wander through this carefully scribed work of written art.

    Something Worth Something

    I suppose I have something

    to say.

    Some of which may be profound;

    Some mediocre.

    Some simply a delusional attempt

    at organizing my otherwise

    scattered thoughts.

    All of which, are indeed,

    documented fragments of

    a piece of me;

    A piece that typically,

    before reaching the page,

    lives alone within the confines of my brain.

    I cannot expect to be understood.
