About this ebook

Adult Hunt was written from many documented stories of abuses that children were subjected to by their parents, friends, or strangers. This book will help other children to know that they are not alone in their suffering and where to go for help. All of this is entwined into a science fiction story where the children get to travel into a domed underwater environment near Washington, D.C. where they receive everything a child could want. They then get to choose which Holodeck Maze Game their abusers must go through in order to pay them back for their many abuses. No person is actually killed or injured during this competition, however, the abusers feel the effects of the games in real time. Both the child and the abuser are given gold rings with angels whose eyes turn from green to ruby red when it is their time to complete the games. "May your chances favor your outcomes" was written across the top of each application which the children had filled out and e-mailed to enter the Holodeck Maze Games.

A wave of sadness flew over me like a flock of dark birds. My parents had gotten on my case about using Facebook too much. Last week they took away my cell phone and laptop. They were afraid I might get hurt or meet with some guy looking for a victim to kidnap. That happened to one of my friends at school. Her name was Jane Lewis. She answered a Facebook Friend Me request and started a conversation with a man who said he was 19 and from New York City. It turned out that after a month, he asked her to meet him so they could get to know each other better. She bought an airline ticket to New York City and was never seen again. I knew they were trying to protect me, but I missed the online conversations with my friends. My iPad was hidden under my pillow so I could follow most of what was happening. That is how I came across the application for Adult Hunt on a website address, www.adulthunt.net , which posted a game with little explanation on the rules so I decided to fill out the application. I was asked my name, Brooke Rankin, and my age, sixteen; the names of my parents, Robert and Lyn Rankin; their ages, forty and forty-five; their city and state, Little Rock, Arkansas; and their disciplinary methods they used to control me for punishment. I thought nothing about what the consequences of this information might be if it fell into the wrong hands. I was angry and for a moment hoped the information would be published in the local newspaper.

The next morning I went to school as usual. Some of my friends talked about the same application that I had filled out. They wondered who had sponsored the website and how the information would be used. We dismissed any negative thoughts about the application and its contents and had a normal day at school hanging out and talking about the upcoming weekend.

When I arrived home after school, I went straight to my room to check my iPad. Adult Hunt had sent me a message about my application saying that I had won a prize for a quick response to their ad. It said that they would contact me soon for more information that would be posted on my website. I was excited and hoped that I had won some kind of lottery or money for my entry. Written in fine print below the application was: Only one child and one parent from each state will be chosen as contestants, where only one pair will win the final prize. May your chances favor your outcomes was written across the top of the application.

I waited for contact from Adult Hunt website for several days. When it finally came, they asked me to put my story on the internet and contact all of my Facebook friends to answer their application. I set up a website address and a domain name with my story and linked my friends’ responses to an email address story@adulthunt.com so we could compare notes of our experiences. I also got my boyfriend, Austin Short, a computer whiz, to hack into the adulthunt.net website so I could see how
