An Unbroken Circle of Love, is a third installment in the very inspirational story of Pastor Angie. The book is mainly about how one can still be used by God and strives for the kingdom of God. Despite what obstacles that they may face.

Pastor Angie is still beating the odds as she struggles to recover from a massive stroke and Early Onset Frontal Lobe Dementia. She shows that although ill that she can still be used by God. With the love of her family, friends and congregation.

Which is why the story is titled An Unbroken Circle of Love . I feel with genuine love of first God and family and friends you can conquer anything. The story is set in twenty fourteen Pemberton North Carolina , a small all black town with about twenty five thousand people.

The main characters are of course , fifty one year old Pastor Sheila Angela Davis. Her eight children and thirteen Grand children. Kayla Warner Davis , Pastor Angies daughter in law and nurse who has moderate Cerebral Palsy. She has a stutter and walks with a slight limp. Her son Eric ,a high school principal and teacher. And Olivia ,her twelve year old Grand Daughter. Her Great Grand daughter Melodie Morris ,their four children and husband Elijah Morris.

My name is Churnet Winborne. I’m thirty-three years old I was born and raised in Washington DC. Where I live with my loving parents Thomas and Larice Winborne who have been my loving support all my life and it is because of their love and support I am able to persue my dream of being a writer. I was born with a disability called Cerebral Palsy which comes from brain damage and not enough oxygen getting to the brain during birth. As a result of my disability I’m unable to walk and use a wheelchair to get around and I also stutter when I speak. And ,it is because of my disability and my love for Jesus Christ that I want to write novels and short stories geared toward the disabled community . I want to be a voice and inspiration for them. I honestly hope that everyone who reads, An Unbroken Circle of Love, the Pastor Angie , series my second novel will be touched and inspired and remember that love conquers all through Christ.

    CHAPTER 1

    Ebony’s Unlikely Date

    Seventeen year old Ebony Lynne Davis, is on her way to her first period World History Class. When, she suddenly hears her name being called.

    Hey, Eb wait up ! I wanna ask you something !. Colier Haygood bellows.

    Ebony is a lovely outstandingly beautiful young woman, with permed glossy black hair that spills down her back, Ebony’s dark chocolate cheeks held brown blush, brown mascara and eye shadow, and lastly, her very full lips held penny brown lipstick.

    Yeah, what’s up, Colier?. She asks, turning around as her long black mane cascades down her back.

    Are you going to The Harvest Ball this Saturday?. The milky skinned young man of sixteen asks.

    Yeah, are you asking me?. Ebony smiles surprisingly.

    I was wondering if you’d like to go with me that is if you don’t have a date already?.

    No, Colier I don’t have a date and I’d love to go to the Harvest Ball with you thanks for the invite. Ebony says, giving the blushing tomato red faced young man a kiss on the cheek.

    Three hours later, Ebony has just sprinted through the living room calling, Nanny Angie! Nanny Angie I’m home! It’s me, Ebony!.

    Ebbie, baby I here up! I here stairs up, baby!. Angie calls back.

    Hey, Nanny Angie what’s up? How’s your day been?.

    "Bless you, baby Ebbie day good so far thank Lord for bein here". Angie says, giving her grand daughter a lovingly sweet slobbery kiss on her chocolate cheek.

    Nanny Angie, do you remember how upset I was about not having a date for the Harvest Ball this Saturday night?. The young woman asks.

    "Think so, baby sure not". Angie says.

    Well, Nanny Angie. Colier Haygood, the captain of the football asked me to The Harvest Ball. Ebony informs her.

    That wonerful, baby, happy, happy, Ebbie proud, proud you. Angie smiles.

    Thanks, Nanny. I knew you’d understand. I just hope that Daddy Eric will like him.

    Why, Eric not like him?.

    Cause he’s white, Nanny Angie. She says worriedly.

    Baby love is love color not matter Jesus love all His children same no color difference. I love meet him bring by. Angie laughs.

    Thanks, Nanny Angie. I knew you’d understand. Ebony says, wrapping warm brown arms around her grandmother and confidant.

    I alway here for all my babies matter no what. Angie smiles.

    Meeting Pastor Angie

    On Wednesday afternoon, Colier is busy putting books into his locker when, Ebony rushes up to him.

    Hey, Eb what up?. He asks, facing her.

    Well, my Nanny Angie wants to meet you.

    Isn’t your grandma a preacher? I don’t want her Bible belting me. We are Pentecostal but, I ain’t that religious. He says.

    Oh, Colier, Nanny Angie an’t nothing like that why, she’s the sweetest most kindest woman you’d ever meet and, you’ll fall in love with her just like we all have. She’s still recovering from a stroke and her speech is impaired a bit and she has moderate Dementia but, she’s still wonderful. Now, are you coming?. Ebony asks, wide eyed hope.

    I’ll come Eb you know that I’ll do anything for you so, when’s dinner?.

    Thanks, Colier ! Thanks colier!. She says, giving him the biggest kiss on the lips ever!

    On nine thirty Martin Luther King Avenue, Pastor Angie is instructing, eleven year old how to bake her famous Snickerdoodle Cookies when, the door bell rings.

    "Now, grease pan lightly with ooh, can’t find word with white stuff".

    Angie says, struggling for the simplest word.

    You mean, the flour Nanny Angie?. Olivia asks, sprinkling the flour in the pan.

    Now, let’s pour the batter on cookie sheet an smooth out with big spoon. Angie smiles, as she kindly instructs the little girl.

    Good very baby proud, proud my Livie. Angie praises.

    I’ll get it, Nanny Angie!. Twelve year old eight foot tall Joshua Davis, her grandson bellows, running toward the door.

    "Thank, Josha, baby. Now, Livie, baby take han yours and rub grease roun pan butter an white stuff that good, Livie, baby. Now, put sheet cookie in stove good baby". Angie replies, sweetly as she pats the little girl’s shoulder.

    Nanny Angie, Ebony’s home and she bought some white boy home!. Joshua bellows.

    "K. Josh, baby not have to nounce color race not matter". Angie tells him as she slowly walks out to the living room on her walker.

    Nanny Angie, this is my friend Colier Haygood. Ebony says.

    Hello, Ms. Davis it’s nice to meet you, mam. The eighteen year old replies, holding out his milky white hand.

    "Baby not shake hans I give hugs an kisses. Now, hope don’t min I have stroke an I slobber an can’t hol it in". Angie says.

    No, mam I don’t mind your kisses an Ebony told me all about your illness. Colier tells her.

    "Muah, baby. I Pastor Angie. Bless you have seat". She says, smacking a wet slobbery kiss on his cheek.

    "Can’t say name cause of stroke so, I call you, baby cause you still one my babies hope don’t min".

    No, mam. I really don’t care and I understand.

    How long you know my Ebbie? How long been friends?. Angie asks.

    Every since, last year when I moved here from Harrison. He tells her.

    That good, baby.

    "Now, school good do?". Angie asks.

    What?.

    Nanny Angie, is asking if you’re getting good grades in school? She has Aphasia from the stroke.

    All A’s mam I’m an honor student and I’m on the Football team.

    What team name?.

    The Tigers, The Westside Tigers that is. Colier says.

    Good very baby that wonerful.

    "So wanna take Ebbie out on date?". Angie asks.

    Sort of, I want to take Ebony to the Harvest Ball. I really like her a lot.

    "Where parents live?".

    Just me an my mom Mary Elizabeth she’s a waitress at the Western Steer.

    That good baby. I like that place good diner. Angie tells him.

    "Come back for Sunday supper think we have roast chicken".

    That’ll be great, mam, Pastor Angie. I’ll be back, Listen, I need to go right now but, I’ll see you Sunday. He says, kissing Ebony on the cheek and Angie as well.

    Sunday Supper and Meeting Eric

    Forty seven year old Mary Elizabeth Haygood is seasoning her string beans when, Colier dances over to her.

    Hey, Col, hon found a date for the dance yet?. ME. Asks.

    Yes, mom. I have a date with Ebony Davis, the smartest most beautiful young woman in school.

    "The black girl? Oh, Colier I don’t know this is still North Carolina an you member bout Trayvon Martin getting killed such a hansome young man killed only cause he was black.

    I know, Mom but, I like Ebony I even love her she’s so cool an her gran ma’s a Pastor an everything she’s so, so sweet she’s still recovering from a stroke but, she’s so nice you’ll love her and she calls me one of her babies. Colier protests.

    I know, Pastor Angie she helped me get my job at the Steer an yes, she’s so, sweet. I’m sure her grand daughter Ebony is lovely too you have my blessing just be very careful, son. I love you and only want the best for you.

    Mary Elizabeth replies.

    I know, Mom an don’t worry so much ok? And, Pastor Angie invited me to Sunday Supper.

    That’s great, Colier, sweetie I’ll help you pick out a nice outfit.

    Mary Elizabeth says.

    Sunday Supper

    The house permeates with the divine smells of southern cusine. George’s honey baked ham, Kayla’s three cheesed macaroni and cheese, Pastor Angie’s collard greens, and Samantha’s sweet potato pie topped with whipped cream for desert.

    Daddy Eric. I know that you’re going to love Colier he’s an awesome guy. He’s Captain of the Football team and he’s on the honor roll. I know you’ll love him even though he’s white. Ebony pleads convincingly.

    I’m sure that he’s a great guy, Sugar Bear but, I’m not so sure I like the idea of you dating a white boy this is still the south although new but, there is still trouble. Eric says, calling Ebony by her pet name.

    Oh, that’s the door now. You’ll love him, Daddy. Ebony says dashing to the door.

    Hello, Mr. Davis sir I’m here to see, Ebony. Colier says, anxiously holding out a white hand.

    Hello, I’m Eric Davis, Ebony’s father. He replies, not shaking the young man’s hand.

    In come baby how are you? Have seat, darlin. Angie says, pointing to the sofa with her left hand.

    Big boy can’t think of name shake this baby’s hand in house we love each other like Word says. Angie reprimands Eric sternly.

    Mama Angie, you know how much trouble their relationship is going to cause them? The looks stares and name calling this is still Pemberton North Carolina and people aren’t going to like this!. Eric declares.

    Matter not alway have trouble devil is wicked an can’t live life that way must follow the Holy spirit an follow word of God. Unerstan baby?. Angie asks.

    Sure, Mama Angie. Eric says agreeing.

    Thanks, Ms. Davis. Colier tells the other woman gratefully.

    "Time any baby dinner ready an I Pastor Angie call me, Pastor Angie. Don’t worry one of family now".

    A half hour later, everyone’s getting to know each other.

    Go church, baby?.

    Yes we are Pentecostal. Actually, my mom is a lot like you she loves everyone an calls everybody sweetie like you call people, baby. Pastor Angie.

    Colier replies.

    "Glad be meet her, baby that wonerful glad too she can come visit time any". Angie smiles, patting Colier’s hand.

    Actually, my mom has met you once, Pastor Angie she says that she used to live in town here and that you were very sweet to her.

    "That great, baby what name her?".

    Mary Elizabeth Haygood.

    What type of work does your mom do ?. Eric asks.

    She’s a waitress at The Western Steer Diner and she’s trying to get a better job by taking computer classes. Colier tells them.

    Brother sister have?. Angie asks.

    Yes, mam. I have a twelve year old sister named Holly it’s just the two of us my Dad and Mom divorced years ago. He volunteers.

    "Where you take Ebbie out on date, hon". Angie asks again.

    Oh, mam we going to The Harvest Ball, this Saturday coming. He tells her.

    "Drink smoke party lot, baby?". Angie asks curiously.

    No, mam I don’t drink at all or smoke. I don’t party a lot I’m a pretty regular guy. He tells her.

    "Well, have wonerful time on date. Have blessin to go, Ebbie".

    Thanks, Nanny Angie! Thanks Nanny Angie ! I love you ! I love you!. Ebony shouts, happily throwing her brown arms around Angie.

    Time any Ebbie, baby love you both love all my babies, muah, muah. Angie replies, giving both kids wet slobbery kisses on their cheeks.

    Well, you seem like a nice young man Colier and I believe that you’ll take good care of my Ebony, my Sugar Bear. Now, being that it’s a dance I would like Ebony home at a decent hour so, I’d say that she needs to be home by twelve midnight. Eric says.

    "Seem like twelve good time an you all have great time, babies". Angie smiles, slowly standing in her walker.

    On Saturday night, Ebony is dressed in a tangerine orange low cut gown, heels, and ear rings.

    Gosh, Eb I know you’ve been on several dates stop shaking. Katie says.

    You’ll be fine don’t be nervous. Selena replies.

    Thanks Auntie Selena and Auntie Katie. I just am so scared. Ebony replies.

    Colier an I are friends we never been out on a date together this is all so different. Ebony replies.

    You’ll be fine, Ebony I’ve dated lots of white guys before my caramel Jabari came along. Selena replies, embracing her.

    Yeah, ain’t nothing wrong with a lil vanilla mixed with chocolate. Katie laughs.

    "Ebbie, baby ! Ebbie baby ! your date here !". Angie calls toward the stairs.

    Oh, pretty, pretty look, baby Ebbie an you too, hon. Angie smiles, a twisted loving smile from pink painted lips.

    Have good time, babies. Oooh, hansome very muah. Angie smiles, kissing Colier’s cheek.

    "You too, baby Ebbie muah". Angie says, kissing her grand daughter.

    An hour later, the couple walk hand into the gym. Beyonce’s Drunk in Love. Blares from the speakers.

    Just then, sixteen year old Tyrone Powell, Ebony’s former beau, walks over to the couple.

    Hey, Wonderbread get away from my chocolate drop.

    My name’s not Wonderbread I’m Colier Haygood an I ain’t getting away from Ebony!. He shouts.

    We broke up last week Ty so move on!. Ebony screams.

    So, you ain’t into brothers no more?. Tyrone asks.

    Get outta here, Ty!. Colier yells.

    Leave us alone !. Colier bellows shoving him away hard.

    Hey, guys what’s up here?. Dr. Barbara Collins, the principal asks, walking over to them.

    TYRONE STEP BACK NOW, OR YOU WILL BE SPENDING THE NEXT WEEEK IN DENTENTION AGAIN!. Dr. Collins exclaims, firmly.

    C’mon, Eb let’s dance and forget that loser. Colier says, taking Ebony’s brown hand and leads her to the dance floor.

    That night, the couple are walking hand in hand down MLK. Boulevard until they reached Ebony’s home.

    You know, Eb I had a great time tonight. He replies.

    I did too, Colier it’s a lil different than World History Class. Ebony laughs.

    I know, Eb. I really like you. Colier says, kissing Ebony passionately on the lips.

    Wow, Colier Haygood I think I’m going to like being your girl. Ebony breathes passionately.

    I think that I’m goin to like bein your man if you’ll have me an not be all weird it out about the race thang. He says.

    No, Colier, my Nanny Angie says we all God’s babies regardless of color. Ebony says, kissing him again on his thin white lips.

    CHAPTER 2

    An Incredible Mom

    Ma, Ma, Mama An, Angie cc- come back wh where are you going?. Kayla asks, sprinting down the stairs in a sweat drenched panic.

    I swear y-y-your d-Dementia is getting worse by the mi-nute minute. The young nurse says, exasperated.

    Kayla, what’s wrong?. Sister Lauren Conner, Pastor Angie’s best friend of twenty years, asks as she steps outside.

    Mama A-An-Angie’s r-running -ooff again, I think her Dementia is getting worse and Dr. Coleman needs to update her –m-medication. . She tells the other woman.

    My, my poor sweet Pastor Angie I hate to see her go down like this but, I’m sure she can’t get far on that walker. I’ll help you look oh, there she is at the end of the street!. Lauren exclaims, pointing to the tall slender still beautiful fifty -year old woman.

    On this Cool December morning, Angie is slowly making her way down the block on her walker.

    She is dressed in a floral print skirt, pastel pink blouse, and lastly, pink ballerina slippers.

    Angie’s long auburn brown hair which now has streaks of silver flows down her shoulders like a waterfall, rose pink blush rest on chest-nut brown cheeks, pink lip stick decorates twisted pink lips, that smile a smile of love, and lastly, pink eye shadow, and mascara touches beautiful warm brown eyes.

    Mama An-Angie, An-Angie! Where are you going!. Kayla yells rushing over to her patient and mother- in law.

    I go to work, Katie, baby. You know I sposed to give my classroom babies their Language Arts tes back. Angie replies, as a healthy amount of slobber spills from her painted twisted lips.

    Mama Angie, I know that you forget, b-but you don’t t—te==tea teach anymore you had to retire early last year due to y—your stroke but, you are always teaching even if it’s not in the classroom. Kayla replies, lightly touching her shoulder.

    "Jus miss my Livie know she gone now an Georgie too, move out an marry Dr. Sam. Everyone gone all my babies jus gone, Kayla what I gon do?". Angie declares.

    "Livie grow up fast fast an can’t say other name full wish I could know she hate bein called Livie". She says, sorrowfully.

    Let’s get you back home, Mama Angie an I think you need a memory patch. Kayla says.

    "I kn—know Mama Angie it’s hard recovering from a stroke b-but you musn’t f-forget how mu—much that we all love you and Olivia will be c—coming to –v—visit you this weekend. Now, I’m going put on a another Excelon patch. It’s been twenty four hours."

    The nurse replies, kindly.

    Kayla gently removes the small beige square shaped patch. Exelon, is a medicine filled memory patch, that is susposed to slow the progression of Pastor Angie’s Dementia. She’s to wear this patch for twenty four hours.

    "Thanks, baby. Don’t know what do thout you". Angie laughs, as she places a wet slobbery kiss on her daughter in law’s chocolate cheek.

    The Family Meeting

    I have c-c-Ca-called thi—this f-a-family meeting on be—be behalf of our b—be beloved Ma—Ma – Mama An—Angie. Kayla replies.

    Is Mama ok?. Katie asks.

    I—b-be believe that Mama Angie’s Dementia’s getting worse she has wandered off twice and has forgotten who I was twice as well. And has cut on the stove numerous times. I am very concerned as a nurse and daughter in law.

    I think we should get one of those medical alert bracelets you know the kind that lets us know of her whereabouts just in case something happens we need to keep Mama Angie safe at all costs. I mean, we are her precious beloved babies. Tiffany says.

    Y’a know guys. I was just looking over Mama’s medical papers and they say for a night nurse it’s two hundred dollar co pay and I’m willing to put the money up. I got a raise at the post office and they tip well at the club where I sing. Katie replies.

    Ok. Then it’s settled I’ll call the agency and get Mama a night nurse. Selena replies.

    Y’all don’t have to do that. I’m here an I’ll be glad to stay with Pastor Angie although, I ain’t family. Julia offers.

    Thank you, Julia but, Mama Angie needs a medical professional just in case an emergency happens. Selena tells her gratefully.

    Pastor Angie’s Safety

    Two weeks later, the house is being made secure as Fort Knox to ensure beloved Pastor Angie’s safety. ADT. Security has placed video camera’s throughout to capture Angie’s every move, an alarm chimes every time she walks out the front or back doors, and lastly, Angie wears a silver tracking bracelet to track her whereabouts and to alert police anytime she moves out of the area.

    On Friday afternoon, Angie is sitting at the dinning table reading her Daily Bread when, eight year old chubby faced Aziza Kennedy Davis- Morris, her great grand daughter walks over to her with the Uniden Cordless phone.

    Great Nanny Angie! Great Nanny Angie, Auntie’s Nyla’s on the phone for you an ask her if Michaela can come over today. She says, referring to her favorite cousin.

    "Muah, baby thanks will ask her but, can’t say other girl’s name but, will ask now, go in kitchen an get big jar full of candy muah". Angie says, placing another wet loving kiss on her dark skinned forehead.

    Ok. Thanks, Nanny Angie! And one for April too?.

    Yeah, all brother and sis get candy, baby.

    "Bless you, this Pastor Angie?". She answers, in her usually warm sweet loving voice.

    Hey, Mama Angie how are y’a? This is Nyla Marie Jackson, your daughter. The thirty seven year old reminds the other woman.

    Oh, hi, Se-se –Selena, baby glad hear my baby’s voice. Angie laughs.

    "It’s me, Nyla. The blind young woman I’m your third born daughter.

    "Sorry, baby forget oh, sad forget this stroke an Dementia so hard don’t know one day from other. I hate that can’t remember my babies". Angie voice creaks, sorrowfully.

    No worries, Mama Angie we all love you, Mama and understand. And, besides the Lord has truly brought you so far. I mean, after the stroke an you first woke up and could speak or walk and you just smiled now, you are walking with that walker and now, you’re speaking too. That’s progress if you ask me, hallelujah!. She shouts.

    Right so are you, bless you, baby hallelujah, ha, ha, ha. Angie laughs.

    An better I feel, baby proud so of you of all my babies you an Tiffany my blind baby have husban Tony family an everything. Angie tells her.

    Thanks, Mama Angie and, it’s because of your love and prayers that I’ve made it thus far. The young woman replies.

    "Right owe it all to Him, baby thank you Lord!". Angie shouts, taking a praise break and lifts her left hand in the air.

    "Now, how husban forget name Tony I think how is he? An big boy is he an other gran girl doing good?". Angie asks.

    Tony’s great, Mama Angie and Danny’s still on honor roll and Mickie’s great too.

    Infact, Danny won his first spelling bee and he’s an awesome speller.

    That wonerful what was word?. Angie asks.

    Oh, scholastic, Mama Angie. She tells her.

    And, both kids are on the honor roll just like we all were when we were kids. Nyla boasts, proudly.

    "That wonerful, Nyla, baby. Tell them that Nanny’s proud very I have to send both piece of money in mail".
