I hope it does smell good . . . he whispered in his mind after having looked at her for so long. The picture of her smelling that wild flower was so beautiful. He felt like he knew her… so familiar, so soft, such a beautiful smile on that face… hmm… for sure, he had seen her somewhere.

Oh, my god! It is almost 2.14 in the night! Or should I say 2.14 in the morning? Trying to switch off the computer, a voice started to whisper into his ear, ‘It’s my own heaven in that flower… and when I start to smell it, its sound starts to surround my body with the most beautiful song I have ever heard . . .’

Wow! Never thought of it this way! Actually I don’t smell flowers that much, he thought while he was looking around to see if somebody came into his room or outside… but nobody was there. Yet the voice was so clear in his mind.

For sure he was dreaming, or he had just started losing his mind. The voice came back. ‘So you don’t smell flowers that much… means as much as I do in that picture?’

Yeah… well I guess you should send me some flowers . . .

‘Why should I do that? Do you have a good reason to ask me that?’

Because you are a nice person, he thought. Damn! What am I doing? I don’t even know her, and I have started to tell her she is a nice person. I’d better wake up to my senses.

‘And since you know more about flowers, I will trust your choice. May I ask who you are?’

‘You already know who I am. You have been looking at my picture for half an hour.’

‘See, for me it is the first time that a picture has talked to me, so please try to understand me. Do you have a name?’

‘Ha ha ha, of course I have a name. Sorry about that. My name is… Luca.’

It’s a dream… it’s just a dream, he kept telling to himself. The rays of the full moon were bathing the entire room, and in that silence, her voice came back.

‘Well, flowers, as you see them, are only objects of decoration for most of the humans, but the most important thing you must know, before I will send you a flower, is that they are gates to wonderful worlds, and because you trust my choice, I will take your hand, and I will show you. This is only because I really am a nice person!’

I can’t believe it! She is reading my mind! I’d better be careful of what I am thinking. I never thought of a flower like this before! I am amazed. Now, my question is when are you taking me?

That night, he waited for her to answer him but nothing. He woke up the next morning thinking if he was still in that dream or not… her picture was still there on the computer.

What a night! What a dream!!!! Is it only the full moon to be blamed? Where did I read this? I don’t remember now but for sure I read this somewhere -that the full moon has a strong influence on the human behavior. A good black coffee and a shower will make me feel fresh and good to go to work.

At the traffic light, waiting for the green light, the smell of the sea was so intense…He inhaled the fresh air with all his lungs closing his eyes for a second.

‘Only in the nights with full moon, or how we call it wolf moon, will the gate open, like last night… it was a fantastic bright moon… I wish you had been there with me to show you the other side of the world that you never pay attention to, and still, it is there in front of your eyes every day. Till then, I will come every night, and I will take your soul out of your body, and I will take you there, up to my mountains, to show you and to teach you the ways in that world before the next full moon will come. Don’t be afraid. In the beginning you will not remember anything, but with time you will be the one to tell me what you learnt the night before.’

Green light. The noise of the other cars was taking him out of what again he called a daydream. I’d better pay attention to the road. Tonight at ten, I will be in bed. I need rest. It is only the stress. At that moment, he started to get worried. What was happening to him?

All day, at work, he could not concentrate. His absent look made one of his colleagues ask him,

    ‘Are you in love?’

‘Who? Me? No, of course not… I just had some nightmares last night.’

    ‘Oh, I see. Sorry about that . . .’

    ‘That’s okay. Don’t worry. Let’s have a coffee break.’

The day passed so slowly. Back home, her picture was still there. He printed it out. He needed to find out what it was all about. It is not the stress—he kept saying to himself. The full moon was gone. Clouds and thunders were up in the sky. The noise was scary. His thoughts were running wild.

Why are all of these happening to me?

    *

What if she is really coming tonight to take me? Oh my god… What if she is not a nice person? Maybe she is a ghost or a demon… What does she want from me?

‘Do you hear the thunder?’ the voice asked him.

‘You are here?’ he barely whispered.

    ‘Yes, I am.’

‘Oh my god, I think I have lost my mind.’

‘Well, no, but tell me, when you hear your own voices in your head, does this mean that you have lost your mind?’

‘No, this is different. Your voice is loud and clear, like you are in front of me but you are invisible.’

‘I am in front of you, yes, and I am invisible to you now.’

‘Okay, but no more scary things.’

    ‘Scary? What do you mean?’

    ‘Well… you know, talking unexpectedly.’

‘Oh… I will knock before I will talk next time.’

‘Ok, Luca, I am sorry, please, I need to know who are you, why you come to me, what you want from me.’ But no one answered him that evening.

The night started, the thunder was gone, and the telephone started to ring. His blood pressure went so high for a moment. He picked up the phone, and with a low voice, he said, ‘Yes . . .’

His friend at the other end of the line was asking him if he was okay because his voice was strange. He just wanted to take him out for an avocado juice.

Later on, they met at the seaside. He needed to breathe fresh air and to try to make some order in his mind.

Vlad, his best friend, was originally from Romania. They had met at a skating rink when he had a serious fall on the ice, and Vlad was there to help him. His good mood, enthusiasm, and positive thinking always made him feel great in his presence.

‘Hey, man, what is wrong with you? Your voice on the phone sounded like you had seen a ghost.’

‘Well, you are not too far from the truth, Vlad. Really, I need to talk to you. You will not believe what has been happening to me for the last two days.’

‘Oh, come on, man! It can’t be that bad, but I promise, I am all ears!’

His good mood made him feel more confident, and he started:

‘Okay you know the other day, I was on my computer searching I don’t remember what, and I found a picture of a beautiful woman smelling a flower. I kept looking at her—she was so perfect. Man, what a beauty.’

‘Okay, so far, there’s nothing wrong. At your age, it is normal to look at beautiful women.’

‘Yes, Vlad, nothing wrong till she started to talk to me.’

‘This is normal too. You two were on chat room?’

‘No, man, she was talking like you are talking to me right now, but I just could not see her…
