    Relucant Rapist - Earle Wilson

    CHAPTER ONE

I am leaving Vancouver and I am leaving with a sour taste in my mouth I have been screwed by the people that I thought were my friends. I never believed this could happen to me I thought as city cop, and a detective first class, I thought I was invincible. For the past five years I supervised a squad of undercover drug cops I gained quite a reputation my squad had the top arrest record they consistently collared drug dealers than any other squad. But that was gone that was all in the past. The mob had set me up I cannot understand by how could I have been so stupid the mob planned the setup and I was fooled but then so was the whole department fell for the scam. I was charged with rape and I was fired but there had been no rape I was innocent. But just the fact that I had been charged was all the commission needed. They did not actually fire me they had no cause. They gave two options I could resign with a partial pension or they would dismiss me without stating a cause, if they discharged I could fight them in court for wrongful dismissal, what chance would I have me Collin Winters taking the police commission to court. I was a burr under their ass before I was in narcotics; I was in robbery and murder when there was a drug dealer killed it was natural for me to follow up on the murder and I complained like hell about not getting any support. The chief said drop it Collin the commission is not interested in more murder reports its just collateral damage. Life is strange when I was a young kid something happened to cause me to go temporarily insane and while I was out of control did a rape. I raped a young girl now that was a rape but I was not charged we were both juveniles and she refused to testify. She said I don’t know if he did anything wrong that was a my first time and he didn’t hurt I don’t think he did anything bad

I knew I had to get away from the coast and try to restart my life I had heard of a city called Landau I was not near as big as Vancouver but it was a good sized city, located in the interior beside a huge lake. One of my friends, a fellow cop, said "If I had to get away from Vancouver I would go to the interior the weather is nice and there is Landau a good sized city on the lake. My wife thinks the people there are weirdoes just because they are different. The people are different all right but they are but nice, very easy going. That is where I would go I had to leave I had to get away from this city, if the people are different that is fine with me I decided to have a look at Landau I had to go somewhere to get out of Vancouver the city seems to be bad luck for me. I was in my van driving through the Fraser Valley I was thinking what a pity it was to leave the Fraser valley it has been great living on the coast it has everything most people would want. I was becoming nostalgic I had better stop thinking of the past or I will start to weep. I drove through the valley looking at the orderly fields a patchwork of greens surrounded by white fencing but my mind was made up this place was not for me. As I headed east I left the farming area behind and I was gaining altitude now the freeway was lined with giant fir and hemlock trees’.

As I climbed towards Giants Head pass, the spruce and fir gave way to the skinny jack pines and the Vans transmission dropped down a gear. When i had crested the summit there were a number of brake check pullouts and a sign saying Entering Landau Forest District further on spotted a sign View Point 1 KM I pulled into the tourist stop this thinking this would be a my first chance to get a glimpse of what may be my new home. I had gone to the local B.C.A.A. and picked up some brochures on Landau but they were mostly just statics they said nothing the people or their history, but later I learned the strange folk history of Landau from this senior I met in the bar.

I parked my van fished my binoculars out of the glove compartment and I walked over to the safety rail too have a look. I could see the valley and the lake they had mentioned in the travel document but I could make out the lake but not the narrows or the city. I could make out variety of different shades green patches of green that would be the different orchards the. I could not determine I what sort of fruit they would bear but I understand they are famous for peaches, apples and grapes. There was a small patch of bright green up on a hillside away from the farms from my experience I would swear that was marijuana. If I were a cop I would be obligated to check that out that operation. I slowly walked back to my van I sat there in the front with my head down on my dash the sun was streaming in through the window and I went into a sort of a trance. I was no longer a cop but how could this happen how could I have been so stupid.

I was kicked off the Vancouver Police Force after being charged rape there was no rape and of course with no evidence they never found me guilty but I was unable to prove my innocence. It was a set up by the bosses of the drug cartel they set me up because while I was investigating the murder of one there dealers, they thought I was getting to close to nailing the top guy Lewinski. I was on homicide when I was first promoted to detective and I spent a lot of time tracking down the murders connected to the dealers. I was promoted to detective put in charge of a drug squad when I was transferred out of the homicide division. There were a lot of murders connected to the drug industry that I attempted to investigate but the Chief chastised be for wasting my time the commission was not concerned. They said The public is not it concerned with thugs killing other thugs as long as innocent people are no involved. When I was leading the drug squad I was also tracking the drug murders on my off time. I managed to get lot more information of the structure of the gang. The men at the top of the drug business must have felt I was getting too close for comfort; I was becoming a stone right under their asses. They decided to put me out of commission one way or another they could not risk killing a cop. So they set me up they did a good job, thinking back I wonder how I could have been fooled but they were smart and very successful.

I was off the clock sitting in my regular bar having a cold one I was feeling very relaxed we had nailed a drug wholesaler at the scene of a murder we had him dead to rights. I was thinking if we squeezed him hard enough he may lead me to the top. I had just finished my first beer when this gorgeous blonde, too classy for this joint, came over to the table. She said My boy friend is crazy jealous you’re a cop aren’t you. Do you have a gun? I need a little favour my boy friend may be waiting in the lobby could you please just walk me to my room I would be very grateful I did not believe her scam for a second if I followed her upstairs I knew she was only after money. I knew as she got me up to her room she would play the part of a vamp and as soon as she got me hot she would tell me the price. I said Get skinny ass away from my table go and find yourself a sucker, someone who has to pay for what you are peddling. She went over to the bar probably to tell the bartender what a cheap bastard I am and then she stomped out.

    CHAPTER TWO

Later the bar keep brought over a couple of glasses of beer.

This is a new beer this well connected distributor wants me to buy his product he wants change over to his beer He has been bugging weeks so I told to drop off a barrel and I would have it checked out by a connoisseur. One glass is your regular beer and the other is the new stuff. I would like you to try and tell me what you think. I would look on this as a favor for the rest of the evening there will be no tab for the beer.

Good finally they have realized I am a connoisseur of fine beer, this one has a bit of an after taste. Which one is the new beer?

The next thing I knew I woke up I was dizzy my head was throbbing and I could pounding on the door. I was on my hands and knees. I didn’t know where I was but I knew I was in a hotel room. I staggered to my feet and went to the door still stunned, the banging so loud it hurt my head. OPEN THE DOOR POLICE I undid the latch and two uniforms pushed their way in I guess someone had called to report a disturbance. I recognized the one guy a rookie cop. He looked at me and said Collin what in hell is going on here? I looked down and realized I was standing at the door in my underwear and there was blood on my shorts. The big cop came in the room and went directly to the bed. I turned and that beautiful blond from the bar was lying naked on
