Lee Wayne

Hello to everyone who enjoys the journey of reading as well as this book of my mind’s creation. My name is Bradlee W. Benton (or Lee Wayne). I was born in the great state of Texas in a town called Irving. I grew up slightly withdrawn, ambitious, determined and full of character. I’m a very strong-willed person who enjoys life and has a brain that never shuts off at times. I have had a few poems published, to name a few, “Broken,” “Fade Away,” and “A Voice.” I have two supportive parents who know what it means to work hard and keep your faith. My book Project Black: Water of Knowledge is something that I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing it.

    Project Black - Lee Wayne

    CHAPTER 1

    The Gnostic Journey

F or the wind is blowing, and the rain is pouring from the sky, as if the heavens are crying. A single moment in time as a sealed envelope floats down from the sky and lands in the water. Lariana is out on one of her many swims in the enchanted waters. She notices the envelope and quickly snatches it up and disappears into the water.

A season of understanding and a cycle that would induce anyone willing to try it was all that was on the envelope. For in that moment, the sun emerged, and birds singing their songs could be heard as each tree swayed in the morning mist to greet tired eyes. The apples rained from the sky as the storm swiftly set its course without any evidence of its approach. Who would have thought that a tunnel cloud could bring a beautiful array of colors within such a dark setting? This mysterious gray cloak of darkness had its own agenda. As the earth trembled from the earthquakes, a secret knowledge was uncovered from another world not human.

We’re not alone! Wayne yelled for hours on end. Of course this was a silly daydream created for amusement, but what if everyone really was locked in a room called the world? Each and every person creates what he perceives as the reality of the mind. Is it as simple as a birth of a child? Or it may be as complex as having several different characters, representing different points in life. Lenox paused, for almost an eternity, and said, Life, if you only knew how to live. He gazed out and saw the world that was hidden from him for so long. Standing there, just thinking to himself.

These humans all have aspirations on the outcome of how life will, or is supposed to turn out. Not realizing in every life, life gives us roads to follow. Which is how anyone gets to where he is today in the world. I mean, has anyone wanted to press the F5 key on the computer to just reboot and start life over? I’m sure we all have at one point in our lives. Ed, on the other hand, never got his chance to take part of his share of the experiences.

What a shame to experience living through the ideas of someone else’s imagination. The many journeys a person takes of new understandings and epic ideas. As Lenox looked on and sighed, looking up through the water, seeing the whole world in his view, he said, Why is it that some people take one road, and other people choose another road that sets courses to linked events? I guess some roads are very rocky and in need of construction, and people will continuously be searching for a new path—either good or bad. As Lenox paused yet again, watching and studying one particular figure as things revealed themselves before his eyes. Hmmm, a nurse. Is this woman hiding something? What is she hiding? What power does she have that I don’t see? he thought to himself as his mind raced back and forth. I can see that there is going to be trouble soon.

As he looked over at Ace (Ace was the outcast by his own choosing and a very wise and understanding Farium elder), he knew that trouble was brewing, and he had to prepare. The collective of the upper world gained insight about the lost city of Atlantis and prepared for their journey. Lenox, quickly seeing into the plains coming together, regained his mind-set as Ace prepared for the collective. Lenox always was a serious protector as he talked with Ace. I think I will choose a road that is smooth and calm. I don’t need any of this stress, damn it. I don’t want anything than a sigh of relief and the collective drowning in the water. Lenox looked over to the Farium clan and continued on with his rambling aloud.

As Lenox carried on, a cycle was completed and marked the beginning of a world that soon would be tested. Of course, Lenox ignored the completed cycle with his rambling on. "What if we didn’t have a choice? I mean can we pick our parents? I bet the humans would choose the easy way out of things. Hell, why wouldn’t they in the case that every baby born in a world is with changing motives and other intentions in mind? Picking our parents seems to be on a whole new level. Yeah right, in their dreams, but what if someone else could! Hmm, maybe I could help the world become a better place.

"Imagine being a prince or princess who has been given everything, from the silver spoon in his/her mouth to the tiny threads of silk weaved into his/her clothes for appearance. Imagine owning a country through royal blood, never having to work, but wondering how it feels to. What if you awakened every day, assuming you slept… hungry, and all there is to eat is a can of beans with five of your family members around you who are starving? You, the individual with free will, make a sacrificial choice and hand them the spoon. Is that a sacrifice? Or is that just how it is?

"Imagine going to work jaded, punching in and out of the time clock. Watching your hands become overburdened with cracking calluses from your nine to five. Working for a dream of yours for your whole life, just wondering how it would feel if you ever reach it. Or maybe watching the world through the eyes of a savior who has the power to change the way things are and sets the course for major events. Maybe, just the thought of observing an absolutely self-centered, over analytical, jive-talking bigot of a person—who wants only for himself, is scornful, is hateful, and talks down to people whom he thinks he is better than. An untrustworthy, devilish human that people despise being around because he is so bad. Which simply makes your day great?

As I watch these humans, I see that a lot of them experience things of that nature. I do beat a bowl of rice and a chicken that we have all experienced the days when we wished we didn’t wake up. The day went so bad. Or maybe these people of power that any of us couldn’t seem to get along with no matter what, just maybe wanting them to have the same common goals, ambitions, or integrity to coexist. Do you see Fariums? It’s a matter of cooperation.

Lenox paused. He knew that it soon would be about survival as he rallied around the mass amounts of his clan for a boost of morale. As he thought about what Heart had told him years earlier. In the case of the Fariums, it was a matter of cooperation and soon would become about survival of the most deserving.

Heart said it best. Are there people in this world that are so internally self-absorbed they can’t see their ass from their face? My answer is yes, there are. A parable thought, if the only way to climb out of a deep hole is to dig down from within and just start climbing, why the hell is it that a lot of people are left behind? We all do experience life differently. It’s what we do with the life we have that matters. This destruction of worlds comes to those who abuse the gifts that they are given. How do we get back to a place where we see each other? Can hearts be changed for good? Lenox shook his head as if he had seen a ghost or a flashback from a point in time. He wasn’t the only person who heard these words. He saw a faint picture of Heart talking with another figure. Lenox wasn’t coherent, having a lot on his mind as if he was chained in a mental hospital pumped full of drugs.

Lenox made himself a seat on a stone as Lariana approached him. He never heard a word. You want to hear a story? I found an envelope, and we all are in it, by chance or something of a mystery. Lenox, do you want to hear the story? Do you remember any of this? Lariana said as Lenox finally gained composure.

    Do what? he replied.

Here, I will read the first part, and then you can take it from there.

Okay, fine, let’s hear it. Lenox felt some uneasiness about to happen. He knew what was inside that envelope, but his memory was cloudy for some reason. I’m waiting, Lariana!

Lariana took a breath and started to read. "Take time and wonder if we, being produced in a woman’s womb at let’s say 26 weeks, have collective thoughts. Opine, let’s think! A mother at the age of sixteen being a child herself going through many changes that teenagers experience in life. Momma never knew it could be so hard. What is going through the mind of a girl forced to grow up? Considering she herself was a fighting SOB even when she was born. Mentally, she wasn’t able to be a kid at her age, not being able to be a person or grow as a person. Not experiencing life in its full capacity to have the necessary skills in life to pursue her dreams or ambitions. Momma came from a hardworking, smack-you-in-the-mouth-for-back-talking kind of family. What if there was more to the world than just living? Could she have had a life that was hers? Even if she had the world in her outstretched fingertips? Or did she want something that could be touched and gave up everything for that no matter the cost?

"Well, Kate had choices to make considering that she was already a part of the collective. There was no need to worry considering the baby she was having was special indeed. So, does a normal baby perceive at six months? Can babies be intelligent when birthed, or do they need a little help? No one wants a self-absorbed, manic depressive, non-oratory child to become part of the Gregorian society. We as humans all have our ideological ideas that come to mind. Let’s take a look at the scenario. Being a young girl who dreams of exciting adventures that life has in store, and having a baby that does perceive, not being able to prove that, of course!

"But what if you could? Scientists and doctors would be pulling their hair out trying to figure that out, or would they! Well, how would anyone cope with the ongoing struggles or happiness that may lie ahead? Considering that the government would be involved from day one. Let’s bring an understanding and clear, decisive meaning to life. Kate made a choice to be part of something that she could never come to terms with. They told her she would be safe. They told her it was for the good of man. They told her lies. Kate was given a chance, a choice, and she made it!

The hope of the future was within grasp for whom? The year is 2021, and the new president of the human population has been in office for about a year. They said that the government would never stop its debating. The people knew war would always be around with people in the world who only care for themselves. The question is how do we live in a world where the lives of the many on both sides are at stake?

Lenox grabbed the papers from Lariana. We have to prepare our people. I don’t understand all of this, but this is a warning of some kind. Lariana quickly left the room as she gathered everyone together. Lenox continued reading on.

The future of mankind relies on the decisions of few and the leadership of the president to make the best choices. Unaware and mostly blindfolded from the operations of the armed forces, the president wasn’t informed about everything. He did however make a lot of decisions about the welfare of population control—very, very subtly—and was kept in the dark with a lot of things that the government was slowly implementing. The navy had its secrets and kept the information concealed until now. The past has come to light, and the bitter, salty taste wasn’t drinking a margarita on the beach. Every choice has its consequences, and eventually, the truth will find its way out, and everyone knew it.

The commander had to make the decision to go to war because of the choices that were made. He couldn’t stop it and hoped God was on his side. The cities were coming to no understanding, and the army would never give in because that’s not the American way. The Fariums had no choice and weren’t going to just stand by and let their future just fade away.

Lenox continued to read and stopped with a piercing ache in his mind. Wayne had written this, but how and when? He hadn’t seen Wayne in years. Was this a message from the future of the things to come? Lenox dropped the pages and ran to Lariana.

As the story continued, it wasn’t long after a mystical beast lurking around in the forest found the envelope and placed the words into motion with a chant Then into now! Then swiftly as the creature appeared, it disappeared into the thick forest. Lenox, determined to get answers, eventually found Lariana as she was gathered around the clan, saying, We will protect our civilization no matter the cost. All the Fariums broke out in a yell as they gathered together.

Lenox sat quietly on a stone and took it all in. He knew how the story was told as he prepared himself for a journey with a grin on his face, as he shouted, Let’s ride! Knowing that the future rested in the hands of a small boy. A boy who would grow uniquely and become what every boy would want to be—a hero (maybe!). Knowing that every choice had a consequence and some would find out about how far they could go. When judicial deciders made their choices with a decision that came down like a gauntlet stamping a piece of plywood. Could history have set its course for its own destruction for the second time? Looking back into history in the moment when the old became new again in a second life.

    CHAPTER 2

    Special Ed and Momma

A baby was born today. But not just any baby—an eight-pound, nine-ounce baby with a really big head. Momma must have been in astonishment over him. It must have been all the penicillin the nurse gave Momma when he was born. There were guards watching the room with anticipation. For this mother’s unit was on lockdown. You couldn’t get in without an access card. Someone must have forgotten to put the scanner on both sides of the door. Who wouldn’t want to leave if they heard a newborn baby talking? I mean, a freshly conceived birth? I would want to be able to get the hell away from that weirdness. What reaction would you have if your baby was smiling at you? Putting up a peace sign, singing, I can see, I can see, I can see my pee pee in French? Not a usual birth at any ordinary hospital, you can say. Can babies even pronounce words on their first birthday?

Momma knew she was in for a ride! She had personal insight that when making the decision, she was going to be in a journey that she wasn’t ready for. Momma decided to name her precious baby Special Ed Lee West, without the Special, of course. She figured it would suit the little guy. Hell, any birth that was that unique couldn’t deserve anything less. Little did she know that name stayed with him for the rest of his life.

Ed was being brought to the nursery, just like every other baby that was born in an ordinary hospital, considering the circumstances. Except this hospital wasn’t ready for Special Ed, and this sure wasn’t a normal birth. Considering the special circumstances, Ed was what you could call a curious baby. After about an hour or so, he was already defying the odds of what a majority of people would expect a newborn to behave like. Ha! How funny! A baby singing while he was being conceived, and now a special ops hide-and-seek drill, with all the nurses running around with looks that could scare, well, even a baby—ironically, not little Ed though. He crawled into an open cabinet and was hiding, peeking through a hole, taking it all in, just watching and watching. It seemed like days for the little guy. I mean, all those white coats and blue tops running around, desperately saying, Code Adam! That wasn’t even his name; they must not even be looking for little Ed. Of course, the hospital had weekly drills for this particular code. Every hallway and every doorway was closely monitored. It would continue until Ed was found.

About an hour went by, and the patience and demeanor of the staff quickly was changing for the worse. Ed, being a little claustrophobic, came to the realization that no one would find him. He pushed open the door to the cabinet and said, Trick or treat! Smell my feet, give me something good to eat. If you don’t, I don’t care. I will pull down your underwear. The sudden, surprised reaction scared one of the white coats walking by the cabinet, causing him to jump backward. He landed on one of the hospital beds, which caused the bed to fly down the hall. Smack! The bed slammed right into a vending machine without any hesitation and caused the machine to disperse not one, not two, not three, but multiple amounts of beverages. They flew everywhere, spraying anyone who got in the way! Some beverages traveled as far as the morgue on the other side of the hospital. Some landed in the fish tank in the front lobby. What an exciting day for a birthday
