    INTRODUCTION

My fascinating journey into researching and investigating the world of the paranormal continues as I keep helping the living, the dead, and the in-between. The cases begin with a phone call—the calls all having the same urgency. Sometimes I work with multiple distraught and confused families from different locations. At times I may speak to several members of the same family at the same time, each demanding their time on the line to tell me their own otherworldly experiences.

The conversations are all the same; they feel that they are having unnerving and ghastly ghostly experiences. They want to know they are not losing their minds. They seek answers and help as they go into full detail of how their everyday life has suddenly been interwoven with experiences they cannot find natural or logical explanations for. Something that only points to beyond the comprehensions of what we consider normal—the world of the paranormal. They are both eager and relieved to finally get to tell their spooky happenings to someone who is able and willing to help them. And so the cases and new bonding relationships with these families begin.

I am happy to bring you more fascinating cases in my second book, Tormented Souls. I was so excited to bring you my first book not long ago, Mingling with Spirits. It has been such a fabulous experience. I’ve gotten to hear so much about how my book has touched and educated people on the strange and bizarre world of spirits, ghosts, and demons. It is so enjoyable being able to share what I do with so many great people who have embraced my tales and experiences. Some even thank me for bringing this subject to light. The ride has been tremendous.

I want to thank everyone who read my first book and shared with me their own experiences on the unknown. Everyone has been so kind, not just my close friends and family who had no choice but to tell me they liked my book there were also strangers who went out of their way to make sure they personally spoke with me about how much my book either scared them or fascinated them.

I can honestly say I’ve gotten nothing but positive feedback and reviews. I am even more excited to bring you Tormented Souls, a collection of even more in-depth paranormal cases and experiences I have personally worked on.

I also included some education on the phenomenon, and I touch base on some other supernatural beings that one may possibly encounter. As I stressed in the first book, I do understand that unless you have truly experienced a paranormal event, only then can you understand the realism of this mysterious world. It is hard to believe such activity actually exists. This is why I feel I need to share my experiences—it happens and it’s real, and the people involved are not delusional or mentally ill. This unbelievable phenomenon can and does happen to anyone. Many families right now are experiencing some activity as you are reading this book. It may be right in your own neighborhood. Yes, possibly right in your own backyard. It may even be happening to people who may be too afraid to share what’s going on in their homes.

Everything in this book is based on facts and actual events, accounts, and experiences. This book is not a work of fiction. Nor have I inflated the stories you are about to read. All these cases I have personally worked on along with my fantastic team, CT Spirit Investigators and Researchers. In some of these locations, I have had my own personal paranormal experiences.

The family names are never mentioned, of course, to protect their identities. The locations of these haunted sites and personal homes are also never divulged.

    Of course, the most important part of the stories are the families. I want to personally thank all of them. I have had the pleasure of meeting some very wonderful and strong people. I got to spend time getting to know them with lots of long phone conversations and by working closely with them to get resolutions to their haunting. On this sometimes crazy, mystical journey, I would have never crossed paths with them if it wasn’t for the reason of some very tormented souls.}

    BACK IN THE SADDLE

It was the middle of one of the hottest summers in history. The whole Northeast was experiencing very extreme hot weather and volatile storms. It was the season when the crickets and cicada bugs took over in nature, singing in full harmonic force.

Waking up morning after morning to warm air—thick, soggy, and moist with temperatures that only rise higher as the day grows—I’m in my glory. Summer is my favorite time of year because I feel so connected to the season—It’s so carefree, laid-back with lazy days, and easy living. I live for spending time outdoors and, most importantly, for our ancient sun god that fills the days so brightly with the blessing of sunshine.

Everyone on the East Coast is in such a great and friendly mood, as opposed to the dreaded dead, frigid winter months when people are suffering from seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and are complaining of the cold, snow, and outrageous heating bills.

I cannot forget and must, of course, mention my second favorite season being the fall. Mostly because I am such a big fan of Halloween. I know what you’re thinking—my life seems to always be in Halloween mode. But it’s a magical time because more people talk about and acknowledge the paranormal world. Everyone’s looking for a good scare at this time of year and seem to be more open-minded about all things paranormal.

My team is especially busy. We are going nonstop with events and investigations. The fall equinox where the balance between darkness and light equal each other opens the doorway to heightened paranormal activity, and it touches even the greatest of skeptics.

It is also the time of year that death begins to tighten its grip on old Mother Nature. The trees begin to release many colored crispy, autumn leaves, and the summer blooms slowly give way; vivid, bright greens at one time turn a dull brown, at least for the season. Television commercials start threatening the fact of the dreaded back-to-school sales and days. Some even start the countdown to Christmas!

The paranormal scene for the summer season is mostly quiet, almost like the spirits take their own summer break. Reports of paranormal activity are fairly few. Mainly because families during this time take more vacations and spend much more time on outdoor activities. They are outside and away from their homes much more than they normally would be. The spirit activity still continues, of course; it’s just not as noticed as much, and people are more preoccupied and tend to ignore it more.

It’s not till the end of the summer season, after everyone’s settled into their back-to-life routine right before the Halloween season, that the paranormal cases start rolling in again and usually in full force.

During these slow times, my team and I look forward to planning vacations, making time for family and friends—most importantly to recharge. Sometimes going nonstop in this field, which we often do, takes its toll. As with anything, we all need to take a break no matter how much we enjoy the work we do. The needed rest is often quite welcomed and very much needed.

This particular summer was different; for me, it was extremely busy and very hectic. I was nervously anticipating the release of my first book, trying to set up book signings along with everything else that goes with a new book release. My team had some local lectures planned, and I was teaching an evening paranormal class, so I was quite busy trying to get everything together and trying hard to get where I needed to be on the right days and times yet still trying to squeeze in a few more summer-day getaways, as winter much too quickly makes its regular depressing appearance, wiping out all the sunny, humid, beach-filled days and replacing them with snow, ice, and cold, frigid days. Days when we all become trapped in our own homes or apartments and, for some, trapped with their unwanted ghost.

My team had worked on numerous cases during the past few months. We had traveled to many different locations, some on multiple occasions. I had also decided to expand my team during this time because we had gotten so busy. I knew the stress I had been putting on my core team. Adding more people to it did lift the load and the pressure, making everyone’s jobs a little bit easier, and we had some new blood, sensitives, and great new talent, which extended our team and added some new members to the para-family.

When the cases started earlier than normal—in a weeks time, our weekends were booked till the second week of September. Here we were starting all over again. Not only new cases but our ongoing cases were calling too, as we make it a point to keep in constant contact with all our former cases.

One that called in particular was the one I almost dreaded to hear from because it involved a very high-level demon. At least that’s how it labeled itself when it introduced itself to us during one of our investigations. When this case called, it was never good news.

This particular case was very frustrating because we had tried everything. This family did have somewhat of a handle on their recurring haunting situation, but as soon as they thought they could lay back and relax, it came back full force and stronger.

A woman that had spent a good deal of her adult life with a negative attachment, and a demonic one at that, as it proudly announced itself to the team on our equipment late one stormy night during an EVP session at her home. She was a devout Christian who felt her life was under constant attack, and we proved, unfortunately, that it was indeed.

Many priests and house blessings later, the entity still had a hold on her and the family. In this particular phone call from her, she explained an early morning attack. As she slept, she felt invisible hands tightening around her throat. She slowly felt her air passages closing, and she could no longer take a breath. At that point, she felt it was the end of her life; at this moment, her only thought was that this demon was going to finally kill her. During the attack, an intense raspy voice whispered with full confidence in her ear, You’re mine! As quickly as it began, it released her from its vengeful vice grip. The family all witnessed the marks on her neck, and the very upset woman called me immediately to fill me in on her most recent horrific incident.

All the families that had contacted me this time around all had different activities happening. The families, of course, all wanted us to get to them as soon as possible. Some, unfortunately, with very good reason.

I have come to recognize the patterns paranormal activity follows. There is some scientific proof that certain times of the year are more active than others. The earth’s geomagnetic fields, solar storms, solar flares, and equinoxes all have effects on paranormal activity. Some refer to these times as a time when the veil between the worlds becomes thinner than usual. A time when the spirits good and evil from the spirit realm have a much easier time getting through to our earth plane.

We find that right before a full moon, new moon, and lightning or thunderstorms, activity becomes heightened, we actually collect better evidence, and we experience more ghostly activity at these times.

We had an extremely hot summer with many crazy, violent storms this year—did that have anything to do with the activity starting so much sooner than usual?

As always, my team and I are always willing and able to help those in need. Always ready to dive in when the paranormal is concerned. So here we go again.

I decided to write a second book because, of course, my journey continues. More families, more haunted locations, more lessons to be learned, and more ghostly stories to share.

One of my favorite sayings is Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Well then, what does that say about paranormal investigators? Hmm…

    CHAPTER 1

A CLASSIC GHOST TALE, CASE #436

One’s home is one’s castle. We have often heard this, and it is so very true in this next case. We know that some human spirits and ghosts linger at a location, many by their own choice. Some ghosts may choose to stay because of a strong bond to the site. The happiness they have experienced there is sometimes so overwhelming for them they cannot bear to leave it. They have such an attachment to a home or property. They will not leave and refuse to go, even in death.

Some places that hold a haunting are charged by a fury of emotions; sometimes a spirit may not realize they are dead. It might have been a sudden tragic accident or violent event. Sometimes it happens so quickly that souls cannot accept the fact that they are indeed dead.

They may have unfinished business or unfulfilled promises. They cannot transcend to the next level until they tie up those loose ends. It’s often the emotional struggle of not wanting to accept their unexpected demise that makes them not want to go.

Guilt is another big factor when it comes to ghosts. If they have done something wrong or have in some way caused their own passing, they may be trying to repent or make a situation right. They cannot move on until they receive the proper forgiveness they are seeking. This usually involves another living person, a loved one.

A murder victim sometimes will not rest until his killer is brought to justice. There are many reasons for why a ghost will not cross over or leave a dwelling. It seems the more strong-willed a person is or if they were a control freak personality in life, they will continue on that same course, if not stronger. With unlimited time, as this is all they have to focus on now. These types can make for some very stubborn ghosts and vicious hauntings.

Then of course there are certain geographic locations and earth rocks/minerals such as limestone and quartz, also railroad tracks and running water, that can help store and hold this energy. They are all conduits, that make it easier for ghosts to haunt. Other hot spots are the earth’s natural ley lines. These natural lines in the earth’s surface also hold supernatural energies. They are also known as very magical, where vortexes or portals are often found. Many psychics and sensitives often feel the spots where these ley lines lie; they also claim feeling overwhelmed or taken over by the energy to the point of passing out, as the energy from the ley lines is that strong.

A ghost either chooses to stay or they are stuck at a location and cannot break themselves free of whatever holds them there. This is where free will as humans comes into play. I believe we may have that choice to not move on to the next level.

When a home has a ghost that refuses to leave, they also make life difficult for the family
