About Paul

Paul has been mediumistic since he was ten years old. He began his development shortly after the passing of his grandmother. It was not until Paul was twenty-eight that he began seriously developing his psychic and spiritual gifts.

During the 1980’s his long time psychic mentor Sandy guided Paul in all areas of the paranormal. He also undertook some training and a few church services at Halstead Christian Spiritualist Church in White Horse Lane, Halstead, Essex. At this time Paul also began Reiki training becoming a registered IARP Reiki Master teacher in 1999.

Whilst living in Swansea during the 1990’s Paul visited and became a member of Lower Oxford Street Christian Spiritualist Church. This was where he was to undertake several years of psychic and mediumship training. It is also during this time that he undertook advanced mediumship training at Stansted Hall, home of the SNU College. Paul also served several spiritualist churches in South Wales as a demonstrator taking church services.

In the early years of the millennium Paul featured in several TV paranormal programmes including a hit TV series on UK Horizons called ‘Ghost Detectives’ and a live paranormal show for ITV1 and ITV2 called ‘Haunted Halloween Live’.

Paul has since then demonstrated publicly and privately his skills in clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, trance and transfiguration. Paul is also a spiritual healer and Reiki Master.

Having investigated hundreds of properties from all around the UK Paul is one of the leading and most experienced paranormal researchers in the UK today! He has worked together with his own paranormal team to help people who have had haunting’s which have been disruptive to their lives to gain normality again through his scientific and psychic approach.

What Are Ghosts?

What are ghosts? Well that’s a very good question and a very difficult one to answer scientifically! However in simple terms for the paranormal enthusiast a ghost is the earth bound spirit of a physically dead person. It is what is left over of the human consciousness after the physical death experience.

Firstly though, lets look at a puzzling yet explainable truth and that is there appear to be different types of ghosts! I can think of several examples and we shall look at these one by one. They include anniversary ghosts, road ghosts, crisis ghosts, apparitions, haunting ghost, battle ghosts, and visions of a loved one on a deathbed.

Haunting ghosts These appear to be interactive and appear to different people at different times but normally in the same location! They are often the spirits of people who have passed away and remained on the earth plane seemingly either because they are not aware that they have passed away or because they were so attached to something physically on the earth plane (such as a material thing like their house) that when they physically died they could not give it up! Some haunting ghosts appear to have remained on the earth plane due to the grieving and love of others on occasions! Most haunting ghosts do not seem to be aware that they have passed over and therefore are physically dead.

A few haunting ghosts however are aware of their surroundings and of the fact they no longer have a body, but they also are aware of other people who are now living in their old house! On occasions this can appear to cause the ghost to become aggressive and this can manifest itself in the new owners feeling like they are being watched or it can have the effect of scaring people in an attempt to rid themselves of the new home owner. Some rare haunting ghosts have the ability to actually physically touch people. I cannot explain why some spirits of this type develop this ability but statistically it is around three in every hundred haunting’s that this occurs in!

Road Ghosts are generally the unfortunate victims of a road traffic accident (RTA). I know of several road ghosts and they generally fall into two categories, simply standing or hitching. A hitching ghost will often come into the car or vehicle that is passing by at the time. Normally the person driving will be aware of the ghost sitting on one of the seats. Standing road ghosts will normally be seen standing in the road without any interaction. Drivers who come across a standing road ghost may find the spirit passing through the car as they drive through it. There is an interactive road ghost on the coastal road between Cromer and Mundesley in Norfolk.

Crisis ghosts/apparition These events tend to appear when a person is very ill, near death or having been in some kind of trauma. It is thought by some that when a person is in a crisis situation they have the ability to transmit a picture of themselves to close family members or friends. These crisis events are normally short lasting in time and in the ability of the spirit or astral body to maintain its presence and they are not repeating.

Some of these events can happen hours or even up to a couple of days after the person in crisis has passed away.

Mass apparitions These are normally quite rare. I have personally seen them on only three occasions in over twenty years of paranormal study. One of the best was in South Shields. This occurred on the two hundredth anniversary of a major pit disaster. We were surrounded and had communication with several of those who had returned to the pithead area of the old colliery. These included men and children who worked inside and down the mine.

Ghost ships I always thought this was a figment of Hollywood filmmakers or the over active imagination of children. This was until I witnessed a ghost ship appearing off the point of a bay near Marsden Grotto. It was a grey white in appearance but you could clearly see the wooden three mast French sailing ship in all its former glory. The ship was placed into quarantine due to an outbreak of plague onboard approximately in the year 1775 or 1776. We found through historical records in the South Shields records office the events were true and actually occurred. This confirmed the experience!

Anniversary ghosts These are normally seen at certain periods of time through a year or on actual dates in the year. They nearly always show no awareness of people around them.

Replays These are quite common and are probably the most common paranormal experiences people seem to have. They often appear as an unfolding event. A good example is the roman legion seen in the cellar of the Treasurers House in York. When people see it appear it is always in the same place, the same sequence of events play and there is no interaction with the event that’s appearing. Another example would be the nun reportedly seen at Borley Rectory walking along the footpath. The footpath over the years has been raised and subsequently the nun is only seen from
