CHAPTER 1
Plans to visit India
I t was a cold winter morning in London. Everybody was getting ready, when suddenly a girl about fourteen, blond haired named Sofia said, Melody I have got some holiday homework for which I need to pay a visit to India
. Oh really! That sounds great
replied Melody excitedly. So would you like to accompany me?
asked Sofia. Oh yes, I will surely come along. It was my dream to visit India. And I always wanted to see those fabulous sites that mom told us about
replied Melody with her eyes twinkling.
Sofia, you know yesterday I got a call from Alice. She was asking me if Sara and Daisy could visit her at her Fern Hill Farm and if we could go with them
asked Melody. Of course, why not?. Rather than staying in a hotel we can stay with our cousins. And it’s been very long since we’ve met them
replied Sofia, cheerfully. So it’s settled then, we are finally going to India. Leaving in next four days suits you Sofia?
asked Melody.
Oh, yes its absolutely fine. It is good to go as soon as we can replied Sofia and continued
Let me call Sara and Daisy and ask them to meet us at the London Eye for the trip discussion."
So, after calling them it was decided that, all four girls would be visiting India soon. Mrs. Gruen, Sofia and I would be leaving for London Eye in half an hour’s time to meet Sara and Daisy
said Melody. That’s fine. But sweetheart what about your lunch? Are you girls coming back home for the lunch?
asked the kind- hearted, sensible cook. Oh no Mrs. Gruen we’ll be having our lunch at Mc. Donald’s, the one close to the London Eye. So don’t worry
replied Melody coolly. Ok fine girls, go and get ready then
instructed Mrs. Gruen.
After half an hour both the girls were running down the stairs making noises. Thud Thud…. Huh! At last we are ready on time
said Melody. Yeah! Because with the speed that I was choosing what to wear, seemed that our dressing would take ages
replied Sofia. Laughing. Ok! Ok! By the way how are you girls going? Do you have a car?
asked Mrs. Fluorine a lady in her forties.
No! Mrs. Fluorine we are not having a car. One is with mom and the other one with dad
, replied Melody. So we are going to take the bus. Bus no. 176 to Tottenham Court Road, and will get down at Waterloo Station for the London Eye
said Sofia, happily. Come, hurry up! Sofia. Come out. Otherwise we’ll miss the bus
shouted Melody, who was already walking down the streets of East Dulwich. Coming! Coming! Wait for me
replied Sofia.
Soon both were at the bus stop, waiting with their Oyster cards for the bus to arrive. The bright red bus arrived and both the girls hopped inside the bus, pressing their oyster cards on a small round screen. As it was a double Decker bus, so they went to sit on the upper floor. They lived in East Dulwich, a quiet area on the southern part of London. The bus would take 10 to 15 minutes to reach Waterloo. As they reached their destination they jumped out of the bus. Heading towards the London Eye they spotted Sara and Daisy. They shouted out their names, and went towards them. Soon after, the four girls were walking together hand in hand. After reaching The London Eye they sat on a bench from where The Thames River was clearly in front of them.
Ah! At last we are here. What a cool breeze
said Sofia. Yeah, it’s such a nice weather today. But unfortunately no sun
replied Daisy. "Don’t you know Daisy the sun is on a vacation? It is most of the
