“Memoirs” of a Vietnam Veterans Son

About this ebook
I am a first-time author, and this memoir is my testimony of my family's trials and tribulations, leading up to the day I was born.
My trials and tribulations are shared through my writing, sound mind, body and soul. The events that have unfolded on this book are from my own words and facing death face-to-face. I lived to talk about it till this very day! Praise my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Inolin Reyes
My name is Inolin Reyes Jr. I was born and raised in New York City’s East Harlem. I am a grandson of Latino grandparents who fled Puerto Rico Island in the late ’40s and ’50s in search of a better life. I’m also the son and nephew of Vietnam veterans. I have a trade in gunsmithing and hope to become a master gunsmith as the years go buy. I was raised as an only child, and being from Generation X growing up in the 1970s, I had seen and witnessed many historical events, both national and international. I’ve witnessed the crack wars of the 1980s plague my community and turn my friends into monsters. I’ve had my share of events and participation in the streets of New York City. I’ve earned a ghetto degree—something I’m not proud of—and the road to riches led me in fact to the road of addiction and suffering. I’m am proud to say that I am three years clean and sober to the day. Since my life has been back on track, I enjoy the outdoors, photography, deep sea fishing, and creative writing. I am forty-four years old, and I do not have any children, but I love kids. My goal in life is to live righteously and learn about the gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
