PREFACE
Twins Mariah and Miranda are just starting their first year of High School. They are all excited and have been instructed to by their Jr. High counselor to join clubs so it would look good on their transcripts for college.
They hope their first day is going to be fun and they’ll find the right club and make new friends. But as they approach the school they notice a man sitting at the edge of the woods licking the last crumb from a cracker wrapper like it was pure gold.
This breaks their heart to see someone that is that hungry and they can’t get it out of their minds. As they go through the day they try to think of a solution to this problem and look for a club that may do some good in the community. It turns out to be a fruitless search.
They decide to pack food for this man and give it to him the next day as they pass. This all changes when they approach the school and see there are more people there now and they don’t have enough food for all of them.
With the help of their friend Ebony they find that they can petition to start a new club. They just need to meet the right people and get things going.
See the adventures the twins have meeting new friends and starting something that will change not only their lives but the lives of many. Meet all their new friends and see as they have some of their firsts happen in their private lives. Join the first year of Mariah, Miranda and The Love Club.
CHAPTER 1
STARTING HIGH SCHOOL
It was a new day and not just any day. It was the first day of high school. The twins were trying to pick out just the right outfit that would just (WOW) everyone. They giggled as they thought of how they were going to fool everyone that didn’t know them. They were identical and even family members could not tell them apart.
They brushed their long red hair and tried to decide if they should wear it braided or just let it down. They decided to let it down. Everyone always commented on their beautiful long curly red hair, and always asked them where they got their perm at. They loved saying it was natural.
They were always the center of attention where ever they went because people would look at them and ask their mom how do you tell them apart?
Their mom Sandy would just laugh and tell people that sometimes she had trouble too. So they pretty much got used to the attention since they were very young, which was good because it made them very outgoing.
Both girls were known for their sense of humor that sometimes got them in trouble. But overall they were really good kids and made great grades in school.
Mariah said she wanted to be a pediatrician when she grew up
and Miranda said she was going to be a doctor or a teacher, she hadn’t decided yet. But if she became a doctor she wanted to be one that didn’t have to see blood.
They had a lot of friends and they were popular at their other school but, this was high school that was a big change. Mariah said don’t worry it can’t be that much difference,
even when everyone said it was a big difference. She just had a positive attitude and was not going to worry about it.
She wished Miranda would just look at it like she did and stop caring if people liked her or not. Miranda was the worrier of the two.
They finally decided what to wear and got all their stuff together and ran downstairs for breakfast. Their mom got lunches together as they ate and ask them if they wanted a ride to school?
Mariah said no we want to walk to school today it’s so nice outside. Besides you have to hurry or you’re going to be late for work.
So they gave mom a hug and went on their way to school. They saw people from their school last year hanging out bus windows to yell hi to them as they walked. Mariah looked at Miranda and said see I told you we didn’t have anything to worry about, all our friends will be there too. We will not be alone with people we don’t know. And we will make new friends. So let’s go make it a great year.
Miranda smiled and said "as long as you are there I’ll be ok. I just hope we get a lot of classes together. They had not been allowed to be in the same class before, the guidance counselor said they would learn more if they were separated. This however did not set well with the twins.
They couldn’t wait for lunch so they could see each other. They had been that way since birth they had to be touching or they would cry. So they slept in one crib and still slept in one bed even though they had separate rooms.
Remember what the guidance counselor said Mariah.
Miranda said. What did the guidance counselor say? I don’t remember anything but school is getting out and we were going to Kansas.
They had been chosen by the Mayor Pro Tem Miss Simmons to go to Kansas and compete for All American City. They were going to fly on a plane for the first time in their life. They
