    The Sleeping Fairy

Little Bitty winged wrapped one so

    tightly snuggled under autumn’s

warmth of the Morning’s sunny Elm’s

    branch wrung.

So neatly protected and out of passerby’s

site with your colorful wings tucked in

    so close by your side.

Not a sound, do you make and not much

room from this old tree, do you take.

What a joyous mystery you have brought

to life, my fairy friend for fantasy now

for me, is more than pretend.

    Pretty Polly Petree

    Pretty Polly Petree

sat on her little window seal

hoping the day would be full of fun

    and thrills.

It was raining and the clouds left

    no sun shining but

Pretty Polly Petree, believed in silver

    linings.

So off to her room she left running, in

hopes to find some paint to make

a sun so bright and shinning.

Polly Petree painted a lovely view of the sun

and flowers so to chase away all the clouds,

    and the thunder showers.

She took and hung it in the window

    facing the sky.

Away went the clouds and the sun

    waved to say Hi.

Butterflies and Blue Birds sat on the

    windows edge;

    They said, Thank you Polly,

for the sun upon our heads.

You are welcome, said Polly and

I hope your day is full of fun

    and Oh so jolly.

    A Boy and His Dreams

There once was a boy named Paul Revees

who wanted to sail all of the deep,

    blue seas.

It is all he talked about most of the time

be it at home or in school and even in

    the lunch line.

He so often dreamed of it in the night and

knew someday to the sea he

    would take flight.

Paul finished school and a shipbuilder he became,

and off to sea he went,

    when the ship was named.

He sailed the seas and through the years he kept notes,

and he lived happily ever after

on his ship named, The Happy Boat.

    The Frog and the Cobbler

There once was a frog who wanted to wear shoes out of the swamp he left and off to a cobbler’s shop with no time to lose. The grasshoppers and crickets at him they did laugh, for why would a frog need shoes? He sits in water on the top of a lily pad. The frog kept hopping to the Cobbler as fast as he could for he knows what he wants, shoes made of wood. These rocks and stickers my feet they do hurt and with shoes I can move cooler in the hot dirt.

To the Cobbler’s shop he came and the sign said, Closed, and it began to rain. Oh my feet, the frog did say, I’ll have wait until the next opening day. Under the porch he slept that night and when morning came he was filled with such delight. The door said open but, how would he get inside and then came a child who reached down and grabbed him, and carried him in with pride. Upon the counter he placed his frog and the ole Cobbler looked, and seen him and said he belongs at the pond.

Oh please! The frog exclaimed, I need some shoes for my feet, surely you can understand me some shoes would be so neat. The Cobbler was met with such surprise as he understood what the frog was saying, by reading the look in his eyes. Some shoes for
