About this ebook

Brother John had hoped to spend the rest of his days in peaceful existence inside a small parish, free from the insanity and chaos of his former life. All is well until he begins to have strange and disturbing dreams unbefitting a man of his calling. Dreams within his dreams leads him to encounter what he believes to be the cause of his slip into madness: a deadly succubus who has taken the form of a nun in his small, sheltered community. Tension builds as he realizes that he is not safe anywhere from his inner desires. Soon, he finds himself unable to seperate his dreams from reality...and in this fog, his past creeps in on him once more. Will he be able to make peace with the demons of his past, or will the infamous Jane the Stripper add the disoriented monk to her long list of victims?

Jane the Stripper - Evelyn Eve

    PROLOGUE

M y name is Detective Swanik, formerly Officer Swanik of the Shelly County Police Department, or SCPD. I have been hot on the trail of the infamous Jane the Stripper for what seems like years. However, after the capture and confession of the one going by the name of Cannibal Jack (who has been sentenced to no fewer than six life sentences) I have been instructed to call off the search and declare this case closed. Apparently, it is in my best interests to d o so.

After going through one of the victim’s chests belonging to a nun at the local parish, I found a strange note wedged between the skull of a lizard and a fairly large stone. Odd things for a lady of her status to keep, no doubt!

Seeing as to how this victim was a part of the church, it (the note) perhaps could be passed off as the delusions of one of the many people here who come to seek solace in these walls? I guess I’ll never know, as the people of this place were all eventually killed…including the only survivor of the massacre…one under the witness protection program known as Brother John, the eventual victim of Cannibal Jack, who was given the alias Joe Smith during his several months in hiding. I had the pleasure of meeting Brother John once, but was careful not to upset him too much as he was in apparent shock over the massacre he never really escaped.

I would pity the man, but his pain has now come to an end. May his God rest his soul!

The anonymous letter reads as follows:

And today onward, if no man shall ever read this, I suspect that he would be better for it. In this, I must ask myself: should I even go forward with the telling of this tale? No, I shall not…but I at least leave this.

Do I care for those I will never meet, for those who shall come upon these cursed words after I am gone? I suppose not. A bitter man I was, and a bitter man I am still. So, to those who do read this I say you have done this to yourself! The darkness that fills your head and your heart is not of my doing! The sin my words undoubtedly will commit you to in heart and in mind, I shall not have anything to do with!

See? There is an ease of conscience in putting the blame off on others, is there
