About this ebook

This book was inspired by God. He is angered by the moral decay of the United States as well as the governments removing of God from schools, government offices, etc., and the treatment of Christian and Christian organizations in this country. Ideas for improving Christian education, the behavior of Christians, their behavior within the church, and the importance of mission are among the areas covered. The goal of this book is raise awareness for Christians about un-Christian behavior, and how to positively change so that America returns to the Christian nation it once was.

    Preface

This book was written to help people understand that God is not happy with the United States of America or with the people who accept and engage in behavior that is contrary to Scripture. It is written as a warning from God about accepting amoral and immoral behavior. His judgment will come if the people do not change their behavior and if they do not ask forgiveness for breaking His commands.

    Acknowledgments

A special thanks to my husband, Warren; the Rev. William Eaton and Ruthmary Eaton; and Deacon Debra McLaughlin for their encouragement and help in editing this book. I also would like to thank the Rev. Dr. Cass Daly for his support.

    CHAPTER 1

    God Is Not Happy

God, the Father, is not happy with his adopted children—you and me!

God, the Son, who sacrificed His life, who died a very painful death for us and was resurrected and ascended to the Father for you and me is not happy!

God, the Holy Spirit, must feel frustrated because He was sent to guide us, but we don’t follow Him. He is not happy!

The United States of America has changed over the last century from one operating on godly principles to one in which many people have fallen into sinful behaviors: pride, idolatry, pornography, sexual promiscuity, and on and on. Americans believe this country was built on biblical principles. Men and women came here to worship God as they believed was right. The early fathers fought for religious freedom. They wrote the Declaration of Independence with that freedom in mind. They also developed and signed the Constitution with that same principle in mind. The First Amendment assures us that Congress will make no law regarding the establishing of state religion or prohibiting the exercise of religion exercise. Children were taught with that principle, with that freedom, in mind.

Furthermore, in the early days of our country, children learned to read with the Bible as their reading textbook. Religious principles were part of the school curriculum. Up until the latter half of the twentieth century, children in schools prayed every morning, presented Christmas pageants, and learned moral truths. Universities had mottos relating to truths, equality, and God. Public buildings posted the Ten Commandments. Meetings both public and private, as well as athletic events, commonly began with prayer. The people believed, and they displayed their beliefs throughout the land. Many of our forefathers fought and died to preserve our freedom of religion, as stated in the First Amendment of our Constitution.

What has happened? In recent years, socialism, control by minorities, and changes relating to scripturally based behavior in society have crept in. Church attendance has dropped. According to an article in Today in the Word, The fastest growing religion in America is ‘no religion.’ Seventeen percent of Americans are nonreligious, a number that has doubled in the past two decades. A pew survey focus group found that 10 percent of Americans say they’re atheists; another 9 percent say they’re agnostics.¹

A large segment of America’s population no longer perceives themselves as responsible for the growth and development of this country or for saving the freedoms on which this country was founded. People have become self-centered; pride rules their behavior. They try to get whatever they can from the government; they believe this country owes them.

More and more, the US government is taking away the people’s rights and responsibilities. For example, the Ten Commandments often cannot be displayed on public buildings, prayer cannot begin high school football games, or Christmas decorations are often prohibited at malls. These are the actions of a government with a growing hunger for power, a government that is spinning out of control. This is a government that is gobbling up human rights, a government that is destroying the freedoms that attracted our forefathers to come to this country. This is a government that listens and reacts to some powerful minority groups, such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), with anti-Christian sentiments which have taken away taken away many freedoms in response. It is true, however, that there has been an
