About this ebook

Richard West didn't want to be psychic.

He tried, over the years, to ignore the voices that he heard, and the gentle prods that he received from a higher place.
He became accustomed to a certain "knowing" about people and events before they happened, and used this to good advantage in his life, first as a custom officer and later as a successful businessman.

In the end, Richard couldn't avoid the persistent nudging and as his life unfurled, his reticence became less and his inquisitiveness grew.

The Reluctant Psychic. More Case Files! is a follow-on from the first book, giving a more in-detail look at the scope of work that arrives at his door, on a daily basis, as a healer, Dowser and ghost buster. It is a varied, often unexpected mixture of science and the esoteric disciplines, and covers subjects such as remote dowsing and ghost busting at a distance, which will no doubt leave the reader more than a little intrigued

In addition to his work as a practical healer, Dowser, and Geopathic Stress consultant, his bulging case files are full of ghost stories, both funny and poignant, that he has collected in the course of his work around the world.

This book contains more of these stories, explanations and case studies, that give a glimpse into his special world, of which you will want you to know more!

    About the Author

Up to the twentieth century, reality was everything that humans could touch, smell, see and hear.

Since the publication of the electromagnetic spectrum, humans have learned that what they can touch, smell, see and hear is less than one-millionth of reality.

    PREFACE

When it was suggested that I write another book I was delighted to find that there actually is an interest in stories that are real, and that actually happened, as opposed to the usually seen books of fictitious ghost stories

In an effort to keep this book both interesting and fresh for the reader I have included other chapters, interspersed between the ghost stories, which gives an understanding of how diverse my work has become over the years. These chapters that I hope will be of interest, touch on remote viewing and healing, geopathic stress and archaeological dowsing.

I have, over the years, been able to develop a method of working which seems to be peculiar to me. I use a combination of psychic abilities and dowsing that not only gets results in the Psychic realms, but also offers practical solutions to clients with problems on the physical plane.

Many of the problems that I am called upon to investigate result from living in the increasingly difficult physical world and do not have their roots in Psychic intrusions, but must still be dealt with. Problems such as sick building syndrome and debilitating man made energy fields are often encountered in conjunction with ghostly events.

Since I began my career all those years ago, I have become aware of the increasing complexity of the modern world and the problems that we create with the new technologies. With the plethora of man-made magnetic, electromagnetic, and microwave fields that now impact upon our every move, it is hardly surprising that our delicate personal vibrational and energy fields and those of the natural world, are adversely affected and our sensitivities often compromised.

Everything in my opinion, which I have constantly refined over many years of observation in the field, relies upon vibrational frequency. Be it physical objects, our own physical bodies, our communication and energy systems, and indeed everything of a psychic and ethereal nature.

If we wish to make contact with the other levels of existence and access The Door Marked Summer, as the now sadly missed Michael Bentine always called it, we must be able adjust our vibrational frequencies to suit the occasion, and block out the intrusive energies which we now need to support our modern lifestyles.

Sadly in this modern world, this is becoming increasingly difficult to attain, but with focus and a little intent it can be achieved.

I hope that this book stimulates you into wanting to know more of the other worlds which are at the end of your fingertips.

    Ghosts Are Nothing Like That.

Those of you that have read my earlier book, The Reluctant Psychic will no doubt recognise the following paragraphs of introduction to the subject. I make no excuses for this as I consider it to be most important to understand what one is dealing with, when working in this field.

Before we delve further into the realms of the psychic and supernatural, it is important to lay to rest the preconceptions with which we are constantly bombarded. The entertainment industry would have us believe that the world is full of dangerous entities such as vampires, zombies, and all manner of frightening creatures, which are all out to attack us and wreak havoc wherever they can. After many years working in this field, I must say quite categorically that I have never, ever experienced any of the scenarios portrayed in the entertainment media.

There are, however, cases of poltergeist activity that are invariably triggered by the fantastic levels of energy generated for a short while, as children pass through puberty. These energies can give rise to all sorts of temporary physical phenomena, but these experiences are not caused by cogent entities (i.e., real personalities), frightening though they may be to the uninformed.

When we physically die, our souls or our personalities or whatever you wish to call them leave our physical bodies which can no longer support them for whatever reason. Normally we then move to the other side. Now and again a soul will choose for some reason or other not to go to the other side and it will instead remain here and become an earthbound spirit.

A soul is made up of pure energy and can be perceived in several forms. For example, it can be seen as a ball of energy, and I have experienced it as a streak of light, but it is often encountered in earthbound form as a double of the body that it once inhabited.

These people without bodies as I prefer to think of them, often manifest in clothing that they formerly wore. I have however, seen them change clothes, hairstyles, and colouring when they feel it is appropriate for those perceiving them. Sometimes they can only muster enough energy to manifest the upper portion of their bodies. When energy is in really short supply they can only be perceived as a presence without form. This can, in its own way be just as effective.

As Isaac Newton propounded, energy cannot be created or destroyed, and in order for a being to manifest in any form energy must be found. Therefore temperatures in the vicinity of a manifestation drop because energy is extracted from the surrounding air.

When working alone I use a voice-operated tape recorder tucked into my top pocket because I know that I will not be able to recall events accurately later having been in a different mind-set. This works very effectively when undertaking normal dowsing work, but when I work with ghosts they drain the batteries of energy for their own use.

Healing does not require the provision of personal energy, simply the ability to channel energy from a higher source. Dowsing however can be very tiring from projecting one’s energies to contact the target. Ghostbusting is even more exhausting and debilitating considering your target is intent on using your energies to manifest! I’m always ravenously hungry when I have been on clearance work. I need a good night’s sleep afterwards to replenish my energies and a couple of days away from this type of work.

    The Guest in Room 101

This is the story of a seaside hotel, which had problems with unwanted guests who gathered together for company, without making bookings first!

Built in the 1850´s the hotel stood proudly facing the English Channel, which was less than a 100 yards from its polished mahogany front doors. It had been built on the Esplanade at Sandgate to attract holidaymakers in the days when everyone made their way to the coast for their holidays.

The hotel had thrived for many years until the advent of the package holiday, when its clients had drifted away, attracted by the delights of Benidorm and the other exciting resorts in sunnier climes.

It was still a lovely well cared for and welcoming hotel. Maintenance and upkeep was not easy to achieve when the storms of the English
