    Preface

Y ou are reading this book, ‘Smile Your Way to Bliss’ for peace, happiness and your self-growth. We evolve from within and for external changes, internal changes are must. You are taking first step in the direction of spiritual fulfillment. If you take charge of your life and change the way you think, feel and act, you will certainly change your life for better.

It has always been my ardent desire to put my experiences, knowledge and studies in simple book form which may benefit many persons and help them put these ideas into practice. This book is pragmatic not philosophical and also it is not a treatise upon theories.

We are lucky to have so much information available to us nowadays through various sources and media. We can also get lot of information today on TV, internet, from books and various other sources. I have tried to put my ideas in a simple, easy to understand and practicable form.

Writing is an instrument for conveying ideas from one mind to other. In writing this book I have sacrificed all other considerations to plainness and simplicity of style. I hope, I have done this skillfully.

This book has been written for plain persons, not for experts, in a simple easy to understand language. Ideas grow better when they are transplanted to another mind. These ideas will help you grow from within and will help you blossom into a person you wanted to be. I am sure you will enjoy this book and get immense benefits from it.

These are tested and practical ideas in simple language and I hope you will put these ideas, as much as possible, in practice for significant results. Keep Yourself Motivated and Rejuvenated to Get to the Pinnacle

The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal, the more assuredly the idea, buried deep in our subconscious, will direct us along the path to its fulfillment. ~ Earl Nightingale

My greatest point is my persistence. I never give up in a match. However down I am, I fight until the last ball. My list of matches shows that I have turned a great many so-called irretrievable defeats into victories. ~ Bjorn Borg

You give before you get. ~ Napoleon Hill

Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A world of optimism and hope. A ‘you can do it’ when things are tough. ~ Richard M. DeVos

Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later. ~ Og Mandino

Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best. ~ Henry Van Dyke

Do you want to know who you are? Don’t ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you. ~ Thomas Jefferson

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. ~ Thomas A. Edison

E verybody desires to get to the pinnacle of glory, but there are some basic reasons why people do not go much higher, not to say pinnacle of glory. Let us find out the reasons and take remedial actions. First find out what ‘pinnacle’ means for you. You should also clearly know the destination. Define your chief aim of life. Make your goal very lucid. Writing it down is helpful. Think often about your goal or desire. Ask yourself:

    •  Is it in conformity with my vision?

    •  How am I going to monitor the progress?

    •  What are my values and purpose in life?

    •  Where do I reach in one year, 5 years and 10 years?

Find your motivation, as it helps you surge ahead in life. It depends on motivation, whether you are a victor or a loser. We have to regain it, if we lose the same. Here are some simple but efficient methods that will help you salvage your lost motivation.

You have to overcome inertia to start something. Choosing an easy and interesting work first, to start with, is a better option. Starting anything appears to be difficult, but once you gather courage and commence the task, it becomes easy. You will warm up and gain impetus to tackle bigger and more difficult tasks subsequently.

Breaking gigantic tasks into smaller doable portions is also beneficial. When you successfully accomplish an easy tasks, you will gain momentum. Face bigger problems and tasks with a positive mental attitude after doing an easier job. You will get stronger to face the bigger challenges of life. It is easy to tackle big challenges, once you are in the flow of things.

Monotonous routines make us dull and we lose the impetus to tackle even the simple jobs. Plan to perform your activities in different order and time to add the element of variety to avoid monotony and boredom.

Focus on single goal at a time. Multi-tasking dissipates our vigor and energy. If you are really serious about moving ahead in life, you should do things that take you closer to your goals and keep away from the distractions that do not synchronize with your vision in your life.

Do research, experiment and read books or articles about the subject of your goal. Study about people who have achieved success in this field earlier. Think often about the benefits of achieving your goal. Envisage how you would feel after achieving it. Visualize your goal as already accomplished, express gratitude and celebrate in advance.

Brainstorm and prepare a comprehensive list of things to be done. Set priorities and take action by doing things in order of importance. Taking action will produce results and that will motivate you to keep going. If you stop taking action, on the other hand, your progress will stop.

This way you will believe that goals are achievable. This will further motivate and encourage you to take positive actions for achievement. Work properly started is half accomplished.

Remain focused and do not lose sight of your goals. The more often you review your goals, the more personal growth inspiration you will get. You have to constantly look at your goals, so that your subconscious mind takes up making plans to achieve them. When there is a clarity of passionate desire, super conscious capabilities are also triggered leading to great achievements.

You should clearly know what you want and in what field of your life you need improvement, otherwise you will not accomplish much. Also make sure that your goals are appealing to you.

Monitor your goals to assess the progress. Having a system to track the progress will help you regain your lost motivation. Be aware of our own strengths and weaknesses. To sustain motivation, do better than what you did in the past and never compare yourself with others. Motivation often comes from a challenge; therefore the most important thing for an achievement-orientated person is to have a clear goal and challenge.

Compile a scrap book of interesting quotations, articles and stories. Look at them frequently to keep yourself inspired, motivated and rejuvenated. You can also print your favorite quotes and hang them on the walls, or simply keep a book of motivational quotes close by. Read a few lines when you need a boost.

You deserve a break after a hard work. If you keep continuously busy with your work without rest and break, you will soon lose motivation. Taking a break and slowing down to the speed of life are also very useful to regain your energy and enthusiasm. Connect with family and friends and pass quality time with them. Take time to go out with them and interact often. This will also enrich your relationships and mind.

Try to win cooperation of others, as cooperation is more important than confrontation and competition. Having a hobby also gives you the necessary break from your mundane routines and work pressures. Hobby relaxes your mind and body. Find time to follow your passion and you will regain your lost motivation.

Prepare a list of motivational affirmations. Collect positive affirmations or coin one of your own. Repeat affirmations often, with faith, emotions and feelings. Motivation is the powerful engine that moves you in the direction of success and accomplishment. Affirmations provide the fuel for motivation and action. If you repeat these affirmations with passion regularly, the subconscious mind will take over. When there is a clarity of passionate desire, super-conscious capabilities are also triggered leading to abundant accomplishments and serendipity.

Here we have some important motivational affirmations:

    •  I am always creatively alive, enthusiastic and active.

    •  I can. I can do it.
