About this ebook
E. Bassey
E. Bassey was born on August 27, 1981. He was born and raised in the Bronx NY. E. Bassey began practicing the art of rhyming at the age of eleven after being fascinated with one of Hip Hop culture’s art forms (rap). He has been doing it ever since. It wasn’t until about ten years later after a few of life’s experiences and some growth, when he diligently started expressing himself through poetry. Confident in his talents, E. Bassey began his quest for success in the arena of writing.

The Myth
Outsiders do not believe in the myth
of the town
Although, if they lived there, they might
The creature awakes in the night
While men, women and children sleep tight
When people are caught in the creature’s sight
They become frozen with fright
Outsiders do not believe in the myth
of the town
Although, if they lived there, they would be able to see
The creature has been around for centuries
When it is hungry it eats plenty
Human flesh is what the creature seeks
It takes the bodies to its dwellings when its time to feast
It takes the children as a treat
Because to the beast they taste so sweet
Outsiders do not believe in the myth
of the town
Although, if they lived there, they would never want to be alone
The creature decorates it’s home
With it’s victims’ bloody bones
Outsiders do not believe in the myth
of the town
Although, if they lived there, the beast wouldn’t be hard to find
The creature has stood the test of time
It is the last of its kind
Therefore survival occupies it’s mind
Outsiders do not believe in the myth
of the town
Although, if they lived there, by the beast they would swear
The people of the town live in fear
Awfully aware that a horrible creature is near
Outsiders do not believe in the myth
of the town
Although, if they lived there, they would hear strange sounds
When the creature gets hungry it begins to growl
The noise is so loud that the wildest of animals scatter around
Outsiders do not believe in the myth
of the town
Although, if they lived there, they would see trees on the ground
When the beast moves through the woods, it knocks them down
On the path of the creature human body parts are found
Blood is in the town’s water supply because the beast bathes in the river
Outsiders do not believe in the myth
of the town
Although, if they lived there, trails would be littered
With broken timber, and arms and legs that were once limber
Townspeople go missing every year, between January and December
Outsiders do not believe in the myth
of the town
Although, if they lived there,
