    PREFACE

This is a fictional story about hope. The story describes how we can transfer our negative past into an oasis of aspired dreams. When you read this book, you will discover that regardless of the extreme difficulties we face, we will ultimately win.

    CHAPTER ONE

    LIVING IN THE FUTURE

It was a beautiful spring day on a Saturday morning in the year 2050. Nicole was stretching in her bed, a bit reluctant to rise. Why should she rise when she could feel the gentle spring breeze tickling her smooth, soft face, the birds’ twitters adding more serenity to her calm sleep? She decided to nap for one more hour.

Suddenly she jumped out of her bed when she remembered her promise to visit her grandpa Steven, who said he would tell her about his life experience at the beginning of the twenty-first century. She was very eager to know how people were living at that time. Moreover, she loved and trusted her grandpa. She promised to see him at 11:30 a.m. It was 9:15 a.m. now, and she had to go to the mall to pick up a delicious brunch to share with her grandpa. She rushed to wash her face and wear her clothes.

Nicole started driving her lovely small red electric car. The car was extremely comfortable. The body of her car was made of a soft plastic material designed to absorb safely any possible impact from traffic accidents. The car movement was very smooth. The motor was soundless and smokeless. All that she had to do was start the engine, enter her mall destination address on the car GPS, and press the Drive button.

She started reading the morning news from her iPhone 40 while the car automatically moved to the required destination. The streets were very clean. On both sides, there were stunning, beautiful gardens embracing fantastic houses with low windows designed to give maximum enjoyment of the captivating view outside. The similarity in the high-quality standard of all these houses was a reflection of the elite status of majority of the citizens.

Nicole turned off her iPhone upon hearing a soft alert, indicating that the car had arrived at her destination. Inside the mall, she inserted her credit card into a small machine on the wireless shopping cart and started shopping. The moment she dropped a purchased item into the cart, a soft sound was heard, indicating that the price was registered.

On her way out and upon emptying her cart and pressing a button to withdraw her card, the sensor issued a receipt, including the price of each purchased item and the total price debited to her account.

Steven was a gray-haired old man. Although in his seventies, his face revealed traces of smart history. His smooth face and sharp blue eyes reflected obvious intelligence. He had the look of a tender-hearted person. One could clearly see his veins through the thin flesh of his hand. Regardless of his old age, he appeared fit. There was no excess
