Poetry Where You Live

About this ebook
I have been truly humbled by this gift from God. I have tried to be faithful to the call to write, to share, to spread the good news truly to the ends of the earth. Please visit Poetry Where You Live (www.raymondafoss.blogspot.com), for my 4,000+ poems.
I hope these words bring joy, love, peace, and belief to a troubled world. People say that a picture speaks a thousand words. With poetry, I can paint a picture, capture a moment, a smell, a scene in a handful of words. I hope these words paint pictures for you.

Poetry Where You Live Book Summary Poetry Where You Live is a state of mind, believing that poetry, like God’s grace, is where you live, not something you have to seek out in some distant place. The beauty of nature, the faith that sustains us, the smile of our daughters, and the love that we share, these are all subjects of my poetry. I have been truly humbled by this gift from God. I have tried to be faithful to the call to write, to share, to spread the good news truly to the ends of the earth. Understanding this moment
This book is dedicated to Ruth, Erica, Shyanne and Shanequa, the ladies in my life every day. With them, I am on this journey of life, learning more each day about the grace of God and His plan for each of our lives. With them, I trust a little more, believe a little more, and venture out of the boat a bit more.
I am working every day so that His Good News can be proclaimed through this gift of poetry he has blessed me with. I am striving to be like Isaiah saying, here I am Lord; send me;
like Joshua proclaiming, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord;
and like John, crying out in the wilderness.
Look Up to the Skies
Listen, see, look
The majesty of God
look up to the skies
a heavenly chorus
the handiwork of the creator
his glory, his precision, his power
proclaiming across the skies
all of his creation singing
his praise, his love
Look up to the skies
hear their voices

Really Listening
Hanging on every word
no cares, no worries
present fully in the moment
every word, every thought
pearls, jewels, treasures beyond measure
Patient, not rushing, stilling ourselves
Waiting, trusting, letting go
Relying on God to speak
to each of us, by his plan
in his time, as he wills it
Listening, as if hearing for the first time
Taking our time, the message as it comes
that still small voice, the whisper of God
calling across time, in the wilderness
Mindful, purposeful, listening.
Lord. Speak to your servants
Listening for your word.
