It is my lived experience that more than qualifies me to write a book on this matter. I have lived the life of a homeless person addicted to drugs and alcohol with no senses of responsibility to anything but the next high. My lived experience is equal to degrees in criminal justice, social justice, social work, public health, alcohol, and other drug counseling and grief and loss counseling. Today I own Reconciliation Recovery Unlimited LLC. I am an advocate for recovery who speaks at colleges and on numerous platforms along with others to assist in peer recovery. Today I am happily married and have been for the past four years, and the relationship with my family and children is better than it has ever been. In Toledo, Ohio, I work as the lead case manager for New Concepts Philio Inc. I give back to the community that I have taken so much from. I am always available to speak, advocate for recovery because today I can say I got well!

You have only to believe!
25054.pngChange is like taking a long walk on a road that seems to have no end in sight. But the beauty is the lessons learned along the way; they are pieces of a dream that have become your life. In order for true change to be made known, there must first be an inside acceptance. The result of the inside acceptance of truth produces the outside manifestation of change.

Reconciled: A New Beginning
Introduction
I am writing this support book to those who are suffering or have suffered from the effects of drug addiction or alcoholism or any other issue that requires recovery. I am a man who has a history of drug and alcohol use and used crack cocaine for twenty years. I have five prison numbers, and I have been in county jails more times than I can really count. I cannot tell you how much time I have done altogether, but I will tell you, it’s been a lot.
Now that I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior (Higher Power), I’ve realized that I am delivered from the sickness that has sought to take my life. Sharing some principles that I have been shown is another part of my recovery. I am hoping that I am able to reach out to at least one person and share the hope that has been shared with me.
Today is a gift from God, and today I will rejoice and be glad in it no matter what comes. I do hope that you read this and gain an understanding of the truth that holds life.
After reading this, I do hope that you’ll make a decision to seek a relationship with God and move away from simply knowing that there is a God and knowing of God. Having a relationship with him has made all the difference in my life, and that is why I am trying to share these simple principles with you. I do hope that you put these things into practice and learn to accept the process of change and the movement that it takes to be free. That’s right—I said free! I am no longer the addict who has
