PROLOGUE
A fter meeting Aggie (Agatha) at the senior home, and we became great friends in a short amount of time. She would tell me stories about when Frank and she were stranded on an island, in 1955 and they lived with the Roslanders. As she got closer to death, she asked me to publish her journal. The only conditions were I would keep her children names a secret. Which I have done!
This is the third and fourth journal that Aggie had written. After Frank and her returned to Texas, she started rewriting her journals, because everything she written while she was on the island was in short hand. Frank and her, had added more details in the journals, as they relived their life with the merbeings.
The other two journals that have already been published are: Roslander; The Island of the Merbeings, and Roslanders, The City under the Sea. This story is one of my favorites; it tells about the hardships and adventures the merbeings lived through.
Just in case you don’t know, Frank and Aggie were ship wreaked on an island for five years. During that time they met the Roslanders and other merbeing clans. Aggie kept a number of journals during their stay on the island. Before Aggie passed on, she asked me to have her journals published. This way everyone would know that Merbeings are alive and well, in our oceans. Since these books have been published, people have come up to me and told me they have seen merbeings too. Others have told me that they were rescued by merbeings.
Jill
From Frank and Aggies’s journal:
Frank here, Aggie asked me to write in this journal with her. We have no plan to publish these journals while we are alive, as the merbeings have requested us not to, but they are more for getting the details down. As Aggie rewrites each of the journals, it’s just like reliving our adventures all over again. We have been back in Texas for awhile now, but we still enjoy going out on our boat, and we go out as often as we can. When we do, the kids watch the weather for us, and if there are any storms in the area, they call us on our boat and tell us to come on in, most the time we listen to them, but sometimes we don’t!
The grandchildren came out with us this time; they do enjoy Grandpa and Grandma’s Stories about our adventures on the island. They are so young it doesn’t hurt to talk about the merbeings; they think we are just making it up. Our granddaughter Sharlene is the one that listens to every word and details about the merbeings.
This journal is about the lives of the other merbeing clans we met, mostly about the Pagon and Imdom. It was great how we could see things unfold from their point of view, as they told us their stories. As time went on, we became great friends with the other clans.
I complained to Aggie at the time about how she was always writing in her journals. But now I am so glad she did, because you forget the small details after while that were so important about the merbeings at the time.
Understanding how they lived, and how they are not really that different from us. We enjoy both parts of this world, the water and land; even if there is limited access for us. Aggie and I have been blessed in both worlds.
Frank

CHAPTER 1
T his part of the journal is about the Pagon and Imdom Clans; Frank and I were surprised that Inpa, agreed to talk to me about the history of the Pagon. Trido had informed us the Inpa would be here in the next migration, and would bring others to help tell their story.
I told Frank, It is wonderful that the merbeings are willing to share their stories and history with us.
Frank said Maybe it is because they think we will never leave this island.
I told Frank That is probably true. At least it gives me something to do while we are here. It is better than watching TV anyway. It is the history of a race instead of the junk we normally watched on TV. Maybe, someday there will be a history channel; hopefully we will be there to see it.
What I knew about the Pagon, were the stories I had heard from the Roslander about the war, and the freedom of the Imdom had been won. Other than that, we hadn’t learned much else. I was excited to hear their side of the story.
When Inpa arrived, he had two other merbeings with him. He introduced the first one as their Clan Chief Popa and the second one Taim, was the Clan Chief of Imdom. They each had agreed to tell their stories about their clans’ history. They wanted to make sure their sides of the story were represented.
Frank and I greeted them all and told them how happy we were to hear the history of their people and adventures they had together. The Pagon merbeings are much bigger than the Roslanders and the Imdom. We were told, they were bigger than the Imdom; but we didn’t think they would be so much bigger than the Roslander. But next to the Imdom the Pagon looked like giants.
Frank and I noticed that the Pagon’s tails were different too! They almost had legs; there was a seam where their tails would have separated if they were human into legs. They also had darker tails than the other merbeings. Their head crown, which was part of their body, was also smaller than the other merbeings. We didn’t know what that meant but it was different.

The three of them, Popa, Inpa and Taim, had already discussed about who would go first in telling their story to us. Popa looked at Frank and I, and he knew what we were thinking, so Popa wanted to start with why the Pagons were so much bigger and why their colors were so much different than the others.
CHAPTER 2
Pagon Story
W e started the communication between us and the merbeings. This is done by linking our minds together, we connect to their minds. We just sit in a circle, and wait for all of us to be connected, before we start. Once we are all connected to each other, we are a part of their memories, and their thoughts.
Popa began, "It all started when we all lived together on a section of land, which was connected to the water, what you would call a shoreline. We lived with the Green Ones and, Humans alike, and everything was wonderful. For many years, we all worked together to live in harmony. We would bring fish, sea plants and other things from the ocean. In return, the humans would bring things from the land: minerals, spears and other things they would make.
The Green Ones wanted the merbeings to be bigger and stronger, so we could do more things under the water. They asked if they could help us grow bigger and stronger. Many of the merbeings refused, they did not like the idea of changing their species. But a few of the families wanted to be bigger and stronger because they were so small, so they let the Green Ones insert something into them.
In time you could tell the differences in those families, not only were the babies bigger but the parents also grew in size. As this happened, the humans started questioning what was going on.
The Green Ones said It was to help with the work that needed to be done, out in the water.
From my understanding
