About this ebook

All of my information stated in this book has been documented to back up what has taken place while in my workplace. My documents will remain confidential. I also have phone-recorded dates and times of when calls were coming through to my home while I was out recovering from my personal experience. I was the bad employee, so why were all the phone calls coming to my home? My book was not written to hurt or offend anyone; its just the story of what happened to me and how I viewed these people. I have moved on with my life and feel the need to again tell my story one last time in writing. I have withheld the names and identified the sources by the mentioning of events to fit each and everyone in the workplace that I came in contact with while these occurrences took place. The statements I have written about these people can determine who and what they are by their actions as well by the events that took place.

I must say this is the first for me in publishing a book so, if there is some misspelling or grammar errors, I do apologize for the errors. In my writing I stated to my publisher do not change any of my words.

    Chapter 1

    My Story After Twenty-Nine Years

Served to what I felt was the principles, ethics of a Company. Instead the unethical business practices were about to unfold before me. The integrity of the Communications Company used their own tactics to look the other way and falsified my accusations on charges I stated were happening to me within their Organization.

(After I found out the Ethical Communications Company stated I was lying, I told the Union to tell them to give me a lie detector test, they were not hearing it. They knew I would win over their games they had begun to play. This led me to believe they did not want to hear the story at all. The Ethical Communications Company had already decided how they were going to handle the situation.)

And to them, it meant to just get rid of everyone in the toxic ring.

The situation is also called a toxic environment in which I became the target, or I should say the main subject of the confusion.

I have nothing to gain by writing this and telling my personal story. The main reason is to let everyone know who knew me in the workplace and knew me well, would know the character of the Ethical Communications Company proclaimed me to be was the same character I was trying to defend myself from every day. The Ethical Communications Company played the same role as my coworkers I mingled with on a constant daily basis five days a week. As I tried for five years to stand up to the enemy, I was being torn down as I came into work for the Ethical Communications Company.

It is said in today’s time bullying is not in effect with the adults being aware, and it starts with the children, and I say it starts at home. These are grown woman and men and employers coming to work themselves. This is an example by the Ethical Communications Company them selves stating to the EEOC I was lying and saying my character showed it, after I went to them on numerous occasions about my being harassed in their workplace.

I must tell my story and let the people know this is not just happening in schools I can say in corporate companies as well, and how the Ethical Communications Company did not know how to handle the situation so they played along and destroyed my career.

They never knew me, yet when I went to get help, they spent more time trying to cover it up than dealing with the problem; as I look back at it, I to them was the problem. I had such an impact on their employees because yes, I considered myself an independent successful woman, had my own home, and was also achieving my goal in my personal life.

This is how the Ethical Communications Company defines my character in their workplace. This letter was written to the EEOC about me. Let me express this letter was not written on company letterhead or signed.

    1. Background

The Complainant was hired on or about August 17, 1981, and was an employee of the Ethical Communications Company and its predecessors in interest. She was assigned as a service center clerk in which position she provided support functions for management and their teams performing diversified clerical duties which require frequent independent judgment, job acknowledgments, and understanding of working relationships. Job Brief Attachment 1. At the time relevant to the charge, Armstrong was assigned to an NJ xxxx. The claimant’s current position as a service center clerk in xxxxx, New Jersey, is an hourly position and therefore subject to be bargained for policies and contracts in accompany Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the Ethical Communications Company of New Jersey Inc. and (I could not mention the Union, that represented me. There are two Unions that represent The Ethical Communications Company.

(They noted me as being with the wrong union, showed me as well, they would not or do not take the time to find out the real details of anything, none the less, they were so ready to send information about me to the EEOC, that wasn’t one of their top priorities to get the right union who really represented me.)

On Wednesday, July 23, 2008, Armstrong was suspended from the workplace for creating a hostile work environment. Armstrong, an African-American female, disrupted the work environment by cursing at two African-American female coworkers. Armstrong was verbally abusing her peers and intimidating them by stomping her feet and slamming things on her desk. Armstrong referred to her coworkers and yelled the following at them: haters and bunch of insecure bitches. Her coworkers went to seek the manager who was off the floor at the time. Armstrong started yelling at them. Per coworkers’ account of events, Armstrong stood up in the work area at approximately 12:57 p.m. and began the tirade which intimidated and frightened them. In her charge, Armstrong maintains a Caucasian peer, whom she fails to name, cursed at her and was not disciplined.

Armstrong fails to provide details of the alleged event and the time frame when this event allegedly transpired. In reviewing Ms. Armstrong’s allegations with her current supervisor, Ms. Essex County Office, Suspending Supervisor, the Ethical Communications Company could not find any record of the alleged incident nor does the supervisor recall any event of that nature.

    2. Discussion

Armstrong has charged that the discipline outlined above constitutes discrimination based on race and disability. The record above, however, establishes that the Complainant was legitimately disciplined for violation of the Company Code, in relevant part (sec. 1.3), the Code states:

We all deserve to work in an environment that is free from violence or hostility. The Ethical Communications Company will not tolerate any threatening hostile or abusive behavior by employees in the workplace, while operating company vehicles or on company business, or by any persons on company property, and will take immediate and appropriate action against offenders, up to and including determinations and referral for criminal prosecution damage to property is also prohibited.

As the Company has proffered a legitimate and neutral reason for the discipline at issue, and the Complainant has provided no detail to substantiate her allegation that showing the Company’s proffered reasons are pretextual, her claim the she was disparately treated must fail.

    3. Conclusion

In order to maintain her charge, Complainant showed, among other things, that she was treated differently due to her race. Armstrong, however, fails to make a valid claim. Simply stated, the Complainant was not discriminated against. She was properly disciplined for her inappropriate behavior in the workplace. Furthermore, she fails to specify why company action is pretext for discrimination, and the facts related above show that no such argument is credible.

The Ethical Communications’ action in disciplining Armstrong was legitimate and neutral and was taken in the normal course of business. The Ethical Communications Company is a company committed to a policy of zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment based on any protected category under federal, state, or local law. The Ethical Communications Company strives to maintain a work environment totally free from discrimination and harassment. This policy is outlined in the Ethical Communications Code of Conduct that specifically addresses discrimination and harassment based on race or disability is completely unfounded and without merit. The Ethical Communications Company respectfully requests this charge of discrimination be dismissed in its entirety.

Note: This was not true; this is why I must clear my name. I
