Why Go to the Deep End of the Ocean?
()
About this ebook
Toppy who have been best friends since high school. They love to go fishing in
the Pacific Ocean, drink beer and talk about their girlfriends.
The story unfolds with Stone and Jim out-on the Pacific Ocean in Stone's deep
sea fishing boat. Jim mentions that he thought Gwen was falling -in love with
him and that he was going to propose to her that evening. Stone caked Jim if
he loved her or was she pregnant. Jim gets furious, hits Stone almost ruining
their longtime friendship. Things simmer down and the two guys apologized
to each other.
When they returned to shore and to Stone's house, things took another turn.
After Jim left to go to his own house, Gwen shows up at Stone's house starting
to flirt with him. They started kissing and making out when Stone heard
someone out in the living room. Gwen went to the bathroom and he went to
see who was there. Sure enough, it was Jim who had come looking for Gwen
to take her to dinner so he could propose to her. Later that evening, Stone and
Sarah went out on his boat to make love. They made love in the boat's cabin,
and then went up on deck to make love under the moon and stars. Fate had
other plans, for while walking towards the railing Sarah slipped on a puddle
of water falling underneath the railing and into the dark water. Stone jumps in
after her; but couldn't save her.
Gwen comes over to Stone's to console him when she finds out about Sarah's
untimely death. Jim finds out and does something drastic. Gwen and Stone
start seeing each other after she and Jim break up; but fate steps in again. The
story ends with investigators going to Jim's house finding his note.

CHAPTER 1
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN
My name is Stone Rainy and I am a writer for my town newspaper. I live in a red house that is located along the beach by the Pacific Ocean. My girlfriend is Sarah Green who is a brunette and works at the grocery store down the street.
My best friend is Jim Toppy who is a mechanic at his own shop. His shop is so busy all the time that he doesn’t have a lot of time to do what he and I love best to go deep seas fishing on my boat.
One early Saturday morning, Jim comes over to my house. He left his assistant in charge of his shop for the day.
As he walks in my front door he says, Stone, let’s go out in your boat and do some serious fishing and drinking.
I smiled and replied, I am so glad to hear you say that, Jim. I have wanted to go out on my boat; but I didn’t want to go out by myself.
I walked over to the refrigerator in my kitchen and grabbed a six pack of Coors then we went out the back door towards the boathouse.
I unlocked the boathouse as Jim walked over to the fishing poles and other equipment to put them in the boat.
After we climbed into my boat, Jim put the fishing poles and equipment up as I pulled up the anchor.
The ocean was quiet as we sailed out from the pier. We sailed past the buoys to the deeper water.
As we cruised along, I noticed that there were no other boats around us. My stomach just started to churn like I had butterflies in it. The last time this happened to me, my best friend from school died in a car accident.
When the feeling finally left me, I turned the motor off as Jim dropped anchor. We grabbed our poles to start fishing.
We were sitting in our lounge chairs on the stern of the boat for about an hour not saying much of anything to each other.
The conversation then turned to baseball and how we feel about our favorite hometown team, Rushy Reason
.
Jim spoke first, That coach is such an asshole. He doesn’t have anything good or encouraging to say to his players.
Yeah, I agree. It is no wonder that they don’t win any games.
That’s why I like to go to as many of their home games as I can. They need our support. Why don’t we plan on going to the next home game together, Stone?
I would like that. We could go out for a pizza and some beer before hand.
Suddenly my pole started to jerk showing me that a fish was biting.
I yelled, Hey, I’ve got a bite!
Jim looked at me as he laid down his pole and walked towards me with his lure still floating in the water not paying attention to it.
"Stone, what is it that
