some say that there’z power in wordz

but some aren’t aware of the wordz displaying power.

not just those adjectivez like

‘strong’ and ‘super’

but those combinationz that form

sentencez to carry within.

affirmationz are what some live by

but

when you create them they become

self-affirmationz.

trust yourself    know thyself    and be one’z true self

mirroring another’z thoughtz day-2-day

where’z the power in that?

I am not that poet that desires to quote another

I am not that poet that got the Writing Bug after reading required text

            being graded on my brain’s interpretation of

I am not that poet that sets out to mimic the stylings of Maya Angelou or Ralph Emerson

            Walt Whitman or even Gwendolyn Brooks

I am not the next
