Donna Mc Quillen was born in Kenmore, NY, At the age of seventeen she entered the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart and went into the teaching profession. She received her BA from D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY and her MS in Education from the State University of New York. After fourteen years as a nun, she left the religious order and resumed her teaching career in North Tonawanda, NY. She spent a total of forty years in the classroom with young children. After retirement Donna moved with her husband, Bud, to Edgewater, Florida. Here they both became immersed in volunteering for the local Hospice. This experience brought total focus into their lives. It is because of this that Donna wrote “I Can’t Wait”. Through this she hopes to ease the lives of parents who have to face tough situations with their children or other loved ones. Through this book she also hopes to give all patients a skill that will ease their fear and present much peace to them. Then they can join Samantha in saying, “I Can’t Wait.”

    CHAPTER 1

It was the middle of autumn in Florida. The unbearable heat was subsiding and the cool breezes were finding their way through the trees. This day was an especially good day for Mary Hart. Samantha, her seven year old daughter, had finally asked to go and play with the rest of the children in the neighborhood. She had been very depressed because of her incurable illness and had not wanted to see her friends or play with anyone. She knew that her body was ravaged with an incurable cancer and she felt cheated because all of the other children in the block could run and play, laugh and sing, jump and do all
